Job Title:\u00a0Shovel & Drill Maintenance Supervisor\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n

To supervise and coordinate Shovel and Drill maintenance work to ensure that production plans are realized.
\nTo lead and support mechanics, electricians, technicians and operators in the delivery of maintenance work to ensure that specifications are met, and objectives are achieved in an effective and efficient manner.
\nEssential Duties<\/p>\n

Mine Maintenance Planning<\/p>\n

Manage adherence of maintenance to all HSLP, Environment and Social Responsibility requirements under Newmont\u2019s Integrated Management System, Newmont vision and values.
\nProvide information to assist in the preparation of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets and monthly maintenance reports.
\nOrganize, distribute and coordinate all maintenance works at the mine areas to support all the activities assigned to mine maintenance, including planning.
\nWork with the stores \/ procurement department to ensure that all the necessary maintenance parts and supplies are available to maintain the mining plant and associated facilities.
\nAssist in the development and review of the maintenance standard task procedures (STPs).
\nMine Maintenance Supervision<\/p>\n

Oversee Shovel and Drill maintenance work in all mining areas.
\nProvide hands-on assistance during operations activities and ensure that safe work practices are followed.
\nAssist in major work and troubleshooting on the drill rigs and excavators.
\nConduct shift handover meetings.
\nProvide technical support when major works are carried on any of the plant and \/ or equipment.
\nProvide effective on-the-job training and coaching to ensure employees gain new skills and achieve their maximum potential.
\nManage and coordinate daily corrective actions
\nCheck that daily and rotational quality targets are achieved, including First Stop After PM (FSAPM), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repairs (MTTR)
\nHealth and Safety Management<\/p>\n

Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every employee under or assigned to his\/her supervision.
\nProvide hands-on assistance during operations activities and ensuring that safe work practices are followed.
\nConduct periodic safety meetings and inspections.
\nAttend monthly safety inspection and meetings.
\nReporting<\/p>\n

Produce various reports (progress reports, incident reports jobs etc. and submit the report to the General Foreman.
\nWork Scheduling and Allocation
\nSchedule tasks for the team according to the plan.
\nProvide and coordinate support to the team to execute the maintenance work to achieve results in a timely manner.
\nStaff Supervision<\/p>\n

Supervise allocated staff member(s) by:
\nproviding on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching.
\nperforming the first level of performance appraisal.
\nrecommending further \/ relevant training courses and development actions.
\nrecommending salary increases or promotions for staffdisciplining poor performance or actions (first level of disciplinary).
\napproving leave (first signature) and
\nenhancing communication with staff through regular feedback, contact, meetings and briefings, etc.
\nTraining & Experience<\/p>\n

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):<\/p>\n

Degree or HND\/Advance Diploma\/Tech (111) in mechanical \/ electrical engineering.
\nMINCOM certification as Sectional Engineer
\nAdditional Knowledge:<\/p>\n

Advanced knowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards.
\nAdvanced knowledge of the work management process.
\nAdvanced knowledge of planning and scheduling.
\nAdvanced knowledge of maintenance of drill rigs and excavators.
\nExperience:<\/p>\n

Minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in mining maintenance or similar environment.
\nMinimum of 2 years\u2019 experience in a supervisory role.
\nTechnical Skills:<\/p>\n

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
\nAdvanced communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
\nComputer literacy skills \u2013 MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and ERP\/CMMS.
\nAdvanced information monitoring and management skills.
\nAdvanced planning, organizing and prioritizing skills.
\nAbility to utilize the mechanical tools to install, maintain and repair equipment and power plant.
\nConflict management and influencing skills.
\nWorking Conditions<\/p>\n

Position is in a very remote location.<\/p>\n

physical demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to work in confined spaces and will be required to work at heights.
\nwork environment: The employee is required to operate in a safety-critical environment with hazardous materials and potentially harmful \/ dangerous machinery and equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to noise more than 85 decibels, and to fumes, high temperature hazardous materials, sharp edges, dust, pinch-points, vibration, slippery surfaces etc. The incumbent will regularly lift heavy materials and \/ or operate heavy machinery.<\/p>\n
