CHF is a politically neutral, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, that prides itself on an approach which is accountable, efficient and effective.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Job Title:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reports To:\u00a0\u00a0Program Director<br \/>\nDuration:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One Year Contract-Renewable on Annual Basis upon Satisfactory Performance<\/p>\n<p>CHF International is seeking a Value Chain and Business Development Officer\u00a0 for the implementation of key activity components of the CHF International program \u201cYouth Engagement in Service Delivery (YES)\u201d funded by Gates Foundation. The program will provide targeted technical and organizational capacity building to selected youth and solid waste related value chain actors to address the solid waste problem as well as create livelihood opportunities for youth in poor Urban Accra communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as the project\u2019s expert on solid waste value chain assessment;<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical leadership in value chain analysis and\u00a0 development focusing on those chains identified as having the greatest\u00a0 potential\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 solid\u00a0 waste\u00a0 sector<\/li>\n<li>Identify financial and technical service providers and facilitate needed interaction and market facilitation for YES partners.<\/li>\n<li>Identify interested MFIs and provide technical assistance for the development of youth-inclusive financial services<\/li>\n<li>Identify, develop\u00a0 and\u00a0 implement\u00a0 solid\u00a0 waste\u00a0 value\u00a0 chain(s);<\/li>\n<li>Provide\u00a0 technical\u00a0 expertise\u00a0 to\u00a0 project\u00a0 team\u00a0 and\u00a0 local\u00a0 partners\u00a0 to\u00a0 identify\u00a0 and\u00a0 implement\u00a0 solid\u00a0 waste\u00a0 value\u00a0 chain\u00a0 improvements<\/li>\n<li>Monitor\u00a0 and\u00a0 evaluate\u00a0 the\u00a0 performance\u00a0 of\u00a0 value\u00a0 chain\u00a0 improvement\u00a0 interventions<\/li>\n<li>Assist in reviewing documentation of\u00a0 resources \/ Consultants used as required for all aspects of BDS development and implementation;<\/li>\n<li>Work with additional resources for BDS purposes on the project;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic assessments of micro-finance institutions in line with program requirements to inform CHF and its partners strategy on business development services;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct cost benefit and market analysis as well as prepare business plans;<\/li>\n<li>Work with the programs teams to identify key partners important to the design and implementation of BDS and ensure they are involved in the design and implementation of activities;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing linkages with youth friendly financial\u00a0 service providers;<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the planning, coordination, and documentation of meetings, workshops, seminars and other activities of the project, focusing on the business development\u00a0 aspects;<\/li>\n<li>Conceive and assist in developing capacity development strategy related to BDS in\u00a0 SWM;<\/li>\n<li>Document all processes and out puts and lessons learnt on solid waste value chain interventions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The duties listed above are not inclusive of all duties at CHF International.\u00a0 CHF reserves the right to change and update the position descriptions at any time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>At least, a graduate qualification in environmental economics, business studies, micro-finance or related field; with\u00a0 a\u00a0 strong\u00a0 emphasis\u00a0 on\u00a0 value\u00a0 chain\u00a0 analysis\u00a0 and\u00a0 development<\/li>\n<li>At least 6 years experience with bachelor\u2019s\u00a0 or 3 years experience with a masters\u2019 degree in micro-finance or micro-enterprise development project, preferably with specific experience in a US government-supported project(s);<\/li>\n<li>At\u00a0 least\u00a0 6\u00a0 years\u00a0 experience\u00a0 in\u00a0 designing, analyzing\u00a0 and\u00a0 evaluating\u00a0 economic\u00a0 development\u00a0 programs\u00a0 with\u00a0 special\u00a0 emphasis\u00a0 on\u00a0 value\u00a0 chain\u00a0 analysis\u00a0 and\u00a0 development<\/li>\n<li>Experience\u00a0 working\u00a0 with\u00a0 a\u00a0 wide\u00a0 range\u00a0 of\u00a0 stakeholders\u00a0 including\u00a0 donors, local\u00a0 partners, private\u00a0 and\u00a0 public\u00a0 sectors<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in designing micro-credit\u00a0 related programs with skills in group mobilization, training, linkage to credit and management;<\/li>\n<li>Must have experience with entire process of micro-enterprise development;<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a team-oriented setting;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communications skills in English language;<\/li>\n<li>High degree of computer literacy;
