The Company\ufffds Bogoso\/Prestea operations, located 10km south of the town of Bogoso in the Western Region of Ghana, is in the process of expanding with the commissioning of a new BIOX Plant in 2007. To supplement its open pit production, the Company is evaluating the feasibility of resuming Underground operations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Community Affairs Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em>The Company&#8217;s Bogoso\/Prestea operation is seeking to recruit suitably qualified Ghanaians for the following position.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement strategies to maintain good relations between the Company and its stakeholder communities;<\/li>\n<li>Plan, develop, lead, organise and manage effective community-relations programmes\/activities to enhance and unify the Company&#8217;s image within its stakeholder communities and among the general public;<\/li>\n<li>Develop methods and techniques for achieving improved communications between the Company and its stakeholder communities;<\/li>\n<li>Formulate and implement proactive community-relations policies and procedures and ensure that the needs of all stakeholders are incorporated in GSBPL&#8217;s operations;<\/li>\n<li>Supervise investigations into all reported community-based incidents or complaints and ensure follow-ups or further evaluation is carried out and recommendations implemented;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the formation and operation of community consultative committees in all the mine catchment areas;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the efficient management and supervision of all community projects sponsored by the Company;<\/li>\n<li>Supervise all compensation activities in the Community Affairs Department;<\/li>\n<li>Create a sustained community-awareness programme among the Company&#8217;s workforce;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with relevant governmental agencies to address community-related matters;<\/li>\n<li>Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in the Humanities or Social Science with at least 8 years work experience in community or public relations;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques related to community relations;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to develop and implement policies and establish project objectives to achieve them;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent understanding of community functioning and structures;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of governmental structures, processes, and procedures;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;<\/li>\n<li>Must be fluent in the local dialects;<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent problem-solving and technical report writing skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability\u00a0to plan and manage multiple projects and tasks;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knack of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to speak and hear to exchange information, provide information, and make presentations;<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate in MS\u00a0Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic mail etc.;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work for extended hours<\/li>\n<li>Must possess valid Ghanaian driving license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Applications indicating contact telephone numbers\/current e-mail address together with detailed CV and copies of relevant academic documents should be forwarded to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:recruitment@gsrgh.com\">recruitment@gsrgh.com<\/a>\u00a0or<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>The Human Resource &amp; Administration Manager<br \/>\nGolden Star (Bogoso\/Prestea) Limited<br \/>\nP.
