{"id":5201,"date":"2011-08-25T08:30:17","date_gmt":"2011-08-25T08:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=5201"},"modified":"2013-12-26T16:12:53","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:12:53","slug":"youth-challenge-international-careers-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/youth-challenge-international-careers-2011.html","title":{"rendered":"Youth Challenge International Careers 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Program Coordinator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>Accra with extensive travel to the Eastern and Western Regions<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Development:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In conjunction with the Program Manager, design and implement programming opportunities with new and existing partners<\/li>\n<li>In conjunction with the Ghana team, implement the annual program work-plans<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the development of in-country projects\/initiatives and create job descriptions, community descriptions and program descriptions for volunteers based on the annual program work-plan<\/li>\n<li>Enhance the capacity of existing partners using a strategic approach to training and development<\/li>\n<li>Support the Ghana program with a commitment to best practice in youth-focused programming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Program Coordination:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate and support relationships between YCI staff, volunteers, partners and peer educators by providing leadership and oversight of programs and partner relations<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate directly with staff and volunteers to implement and report on program activities<\/li>\n<li>Follow all YCI and donor finance policies and procedures and ensure accurate receipt tracking and timely submission to the Operations Officer<\/li>\n<li>Maintain regular and ongoing communications with staff, volunteers and partners in Ghana and YCI head office in Toronto<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Volunteers:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide logistical support for the volunteer program in Ghana, including transportation, volunteer stipends, lodging and other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate\u00a0 the welcome orientation and debrief sessions for volunteers and prepare related materials<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that volunteers are appropriately supported in their programming activities, either in person or by telephone<\/li>\n<li>Enforce YCI policies and risk management protocols<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monitoring and Evaluation:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure monitoring and evaluation systems are adhered to for the efficient collection of information relating to project outputs and outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Provide training and support to volunteers on implementation of tools<\/li>\n<li>Support volunteers in completing YCI and donor reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>2+ years community development experience or working with CBO\u2019s and NGO\u2019s<\/li>\n<li>Tertiary Education in community development, social sciences, public health or related field<\/li>\n<li>2+ years\u2019 experience managing youth development programs<\/li>\n<li>Technical expertise in health, private sector development or governance programs with youth considered a strong asset<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience mainstreaming gender across program activities<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working with youth, youth volunteers and peer educators<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience with Monitoring and Evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Flexible, strong inter-cultural skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please submit a cover letter and CV in a single word or PDF document to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ycighanajobs@gmail.com\">ycighanajobs@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0by Friday, September 2, 2011.
