Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: College Librarian<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Description \/ Responsibilities and Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n The College Librarian provides leadership in advancing the College\u2019s teaching and research mission through a clear vision of the library\u2019s role, comprehensive strategic planning, incorporation of emerging technology, sound fiscal management and engagement of all members inf the college community. He\/She has the overall responsibility for library, research and information needs of the college. The duties and responsibilities of the College librarian include:<\/p>\n \u2022 Serving as the professional and administrative Head of the College library Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n Applicant must possess a postgraduate degree in library and information related fields. \n\u2022 Establishing and maintaining procedures, policies and systems that make for efficient library operation
\n\u2022 Drawing up and monitoring the implementation of college library strategic plan
\n\u2022 Directing and coordinating the components of the library including staff, services, collections and external relations
\n\u2022 Planning, organizing, coordinating and measuring the work and activities of all library personnel
\n\u2022 Representing the library in contacts with Administration and committees of the college
\n\u2022 Collaborating with relevant and appropriate institutional libraries and organisations within and outside the country in order to keep up with development rends and attain exposure to developed systems<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Able to complete at least one term of 4 years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of 60<\/p>\n
