Job Title: Lead, Scholars Program Communication\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE\u00a0WORK\u00a0AT THE FOUNDATION\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have entered a very exciting time at the Foundation as we scale up our operations across Africa to realize our\u00a0Young Africa Works<\/em>\u00a0strategy.\u00a0<\/strong>Our role at the Mastercard Foundation is to be a catalyst. Our Young Africa Works strategy focuses on working with others to spur systemic change so young people\u00a0have the opportunity to\u00a0find work that is dignified and fulfilling.<\/p>\n

The Foundation has opened offices in Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Uganda, building a broader leadership presence in Africa to develop specific strategies that support youth employment.\u00a0 Within a country, we work with governments, the private sector, educators and other funders to improve the quality of education and vocational training, prepare young people for the work force, expand access to financial services for entrepreneurs and small businesses, and connect job seekers to dignified and fulfilling work.<\/p>\n

THE OPPORTUNITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the Lead, Scholars Program Communications, you will be responsible for strategy and implementation of all communications activities pertaining to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.\u00a0 The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a Pan African initiative providing education and leadership development to over 37,000 young people in Africa.\u00a0 \u00a0Implementing partners span across the continent as well as in North America, Central America, Europe and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

This role is an integral part of the Program Communications team working in close collaboration with Policy and Thought Leadership, Corporate Communications, Impact and Program teams.\u00a0 This position reports to the Head of Program Communications.<\/p>\n

This is a cross-functional communications role supporting the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program through:<\/p>\n
