Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Underground Mine Maintenance Planner<\/strong><\/p>\n

ABOUT THIS ROLE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

To perform and oversee the maintenance planning and scheduling for the Underground Operation to maximize \u2018tool time\u2019 of the maintenance crew by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access.<\/p>\n

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
\nWork Request Management
\n\u2022 Establish and maintain long-term maintenance schedule (i.e. six to twelve months ahead).
\n\u2022 Conduct regular schedule reviews with key stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Manage all new work requests or notifications by:
\n\u2022 checking for duplicate requests.
\n\u2022 reviewing requests and determining their respective validity.
\n\u2022 prioritising, setting due-dates and obtaining approvals as required.
\nShutdown Planning and Scheduling
\n\u2022 Plan and schedule minor and major shutdown works.
\n\u2022 Review work orders and Maintenance Plans or MSTs for inclusion in shutdowns and change work groups, as required.
\n\u2022 Export shutdown work orders to MS Project, as required.
\n\u2022 Determine shutdown critical path activities, update shutdown schedule as required.
\n\u2022 Update CMMS based on changes made to the shutdown schedule.
\nStaff Supervision
\n\u2022 Oversee end-to-end contractor management, including work orders, service orders and tracking purchases to adhere to target rates and preferred suppliers of labor and material.
\n\u2022 Manage invoices and payment approvals for contractors.
\n\u2022 Supervise allocated staff member(s) by:
\n\u2022 prioritizing and allocating tasks \/ responsibilities.
\n\u2022 checking and controlling the quality of work outputs.
\n\u2022 providing on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching.
\n\u2022 performing the first level of performance appraisal.
\n\u2022 recommending further \/ relevant training courses and development actions.
\n\u2022 recommending salary increases or promotions for staff.
\n\u2022 disciplining poor performance or actions (first level of disciplinary).<\/p>\n

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL CONT.:
\nWork Order Planning
\n\u2022 Oversee that work orders are fully planned and resourced prior to being scheduled.
\n\u2022 Conduct reviews of maintenance plans and costing and make adjustments where required.
\n\u2022 Conduct coding of work orders to suit the requirements of the AMT budgeting tool.
\n\u2022 Review outstanding work orders to identify jobs to be planned.
\n\u2022 Identify and document planning details including but not limited to job scope, task list, procedures, resources, skill sets, parts, materials, services, job duration, cranes and hoists, special tools, required plant, outage requirement, cost estimate, safety requirement and notifications, risk assessments, permits, isolations and quality checks.
\n\u2022 Create reservations and requisitions for parts, materials, services and special tools and equipment.
\n\u2022 Set work order status to fully planned.
\n\u2022 Create Maintenance Plans or MSTs with Task Lists or Standard Jobs; update and create Task Lists or Standard Jobs for all repetitive corrective work.
\n\u2022 Create BOMs or APLs and Work Packs.
\n\u2022 Facilitate backlog review meetings with key stakeholders, as required.
\n1. Work Order and Pack Scheduling and Distribution
\n\u2022 Identify assets available for work in the next schedule period.
\n\u2022 Run forecast for the next schedule period.
\n\u2022 Run and distribute the following reports for each scheduling period to relevant stakeholders: Outstanding Work Report, Weekly Scheduling Report, Work Order Parts and Material Availability Report.
\n\u2022 Prepare and review draft schedule with relevant stakeholders, update and finalise.
\n\u2022 Distribute committed schedule to stakeholders and prepare weekly schedule folders for each work group.
\nWork Order Completion Management (CMMS)
\n\u2022 Update Component Tracking in CMMS.
\n\u2022 Check that work orders are completed with appropriate labor, materials and coding in a timely manner.
\n\u2022 Produce KPI\u2019s for each period, review performance and take action to improve.
\n\u2022 Resolve MOS Element non-conformances by direct intervention\/coaching wherever possible, or referring non-conformances to the General Foreman for resolution, if initial efforts are not successful.
\n\u2022 Take responsibility on identified improvement opportunities to the MOS Element.<\/p>\n

Training & Experience
\nFormal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
\n\u2022 Degree in an Electrical or Mechanical engineering field is highly desirable.
\n\u2022 A trade qualification in a mechanical, electrical or automation field is required as a minimum.
\nAdditional Knowledge:
\n\u2022 Demonstrable knowledge of heavy industry maintenance principles and standards.
\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of industrial work management processes.
\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling.
\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of the operation of the CMMS (SAP).
\n\u2022 General knowledge of performance measures and their interpretation.
\n\u2022 General knowledge of defect elimination methodologies and their interpretation.
\nExperience:
\n\u2022 Minimum of 2 years work experience in planning and maintenance systems in a large mining operation or similar heavy industrial site.
\n\u2022 Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
\n\u2022 Underground mining experience will be advantageous.
\n\u2022 Knowledge and experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) will be advantageous.<\/p>\n

\n\u2022 Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit at a desk for extended periods, climb stairs, walk and stand. Field visits to the surface and underground operations will be required.
