\n\u2022 To manage the repair and replacement of faulty and defective tools and equipment and to ensure that all consumables are replenished in a timely manner.
\n\u2022 Ensure that waste generated by Subika Underground maintenance in and around the workshop is segregated and disposed of as required.
\n\u2022 To oversee the safe operation of the lifting equipment and tool stores and ensure they are kept in a clean and tidy condition.<\/p>\n
\n1. Tooling
\n\u2022 Daily issuing of tools, portable machines and equipment.
\n\u2022 Manage and arrange tools and equipment in the tool store and lifting equipment store.
\n\u2022 Follow up on the return of all items checked out from the lifting equipment and tool store.
\n\u2022 Ensure tools are always clean, safe to use, in good condition and fit for purpose.
\n\u2022 Ensure that consumables stocked in tool store are replenished as needed.
\n\u2022 Periodic and proper accountability of tools to supervisor
\n\u2022 Ensure that tools and PPE are held to acceptable levels.
\n\u2022 Assists in the receiving and unpacking of goods
\n\u2022 Loads and unloads materials or equipment for receipt and dispatch.
\n2. Maintenance
\n\u2022 Ensure all defective and faulty tools and equipment are tagged.
\n\u2022 Repair or arrange to have repaired damaged or worn tools, discard tools that are not feasible to repair and report to supervisor.
\n\u2022 Ensure the tool and equipment stores are kept clean and hazard free. Keep the workshop yard area clean and free of rubbish.
\n\u2022 Engrave parts numbers and ID on equipment
\n\u2022 Maintain workshop floor.
\n\u2022 Raise notifications for corrective work
\n\u2022 Make reservations for consumables and distribute them
\n\u2022 Make grease lines from reusable fittings and fabric hoses
\n\u2022 Perform general trade assistance duties as directed.
\n3. General Duties
\n\u2022 Operate heavy equipment (e.g. forklift) as and when directed.
\n\u2022 Ensure tool and equipment storage containers are kept clean and organized.
\n\u2022 Other cleaning jobs as directed.
\n\u2022 Other tasks or duties within the individual\u2019s skill set as directed by their supervisor.
\n4. Audits and checks
\n\u2022 Check and ensure that periodic inspection and tagging of all tools and equipment is carried out as required.
\n\u2022 Assist with the audit of tools issued to tradesman.
\n\u2022 Ensure accurate and effective tools record keeping is maintained, both manually and electronically.
\n\u2022 Conduct equipment and tooling auditing as required
\n\u2022 Maintain an accurate tool and equipment register.
\n5. Reporting
\n\u2022 Provide weekly and monthly reports on damaged, broken and missing tools.
\n\u2022 Other reporting as directed
\n6. Health, Safety and Environment
\n\u2022 Accept personal responsibility for health and safety.
\n\u2022 Attend safety meetings.
\n\u2022 Adhere and comply to all stipulated Maintenance control regulations.
\n\u2022 Ensure all tool store operations are in compliance with safety requirements promoting the company\u2019s safety culture.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 A minimum of technical and vocational Trade Certificate.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of the work management process.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of planning and scheduling.
\n\u2022 Minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience in mechanical engineering field or heavy industry.
\n\u2022 Ability to identify tools.
\n\u2022 Must be computer literate.
\n\u2022 Have good organizational and communication skills.
\n\u2022 Ability to work under pressure.
\n\u2022 Must demonstrate a positive attitude and strong, dedicated work ethics.
