\nTo develop, implement, continuously improve and execute Newmont\u2019s procurement strategy, policies and guidelines in support of regional Capital Projects.
\nTo develop procurement vision for Capital Projects in alignment with Corporate and Regional objectives and build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
\nTo lead the team in adding value and driving cost savings in regional Capital Projects.
\nEssential Duties:
\nExecute Newmont\u2019s purchasing strategy, policies and guidelines to drive shared goals and objectives across the entire Supply Chain in regard to minor and major capital project procurement.
\nUnderstand and support the Newmont Stage Gate process through turnover to Operations.
\nDevelop Commercial strategies for Capital Projects;Participate in Project planning sessions;
\nDevelop and maintain Equipment, Goods & Services (EGSI) documents for all applicable Newmont functions.
\nDevelop Commercial Project Study Plans, Project Execution Plans and Stage Gate Reports.
\nWork closely with the Project team to develop the Business Readiness Plans
\nCoordinate Supply Chain, Inventory Control and Warehouse Project requirements.
\nReview and approve all major contractor procurement policies and procedures.
\nAssist in development of Scopes of Work for major contracts and procurements.
\nTender, negotiate, execute and manage large EPCM contracts.
\nPerform contract management activities;
\nAdminister major contracts and purchase orders
\nOversee Materials and Equipment management activities to include warehousing, managing or overseeing equipment laydown areas, ordering, receiving, staging and issuing of materials.
\nHold weekly procurement meetings with major contractors.
\nOversee expediting support as needed for equipment and materials.
\nEnsure adherence to contract terms and conditions.
\nManage incentive programs for major contractors.
\nManage invoice reviews.
\nClaims management.
\nLogistics management in support of the project.
\nManage cataloguing and turnover of all equipment as Project completion.
\nDevelop Business Readiness Plans and Strategies.
\nManage Project spares procurement
\nWorkload is primarily focused on projects purchasing from start to finish. Including the upfront planning, understanding lead times and operational integration through the implementation and finalisation of the contract and supplier performance.
\nProvide support to Regional Project Managers, for the annual planning of resources to ensure an optimum supply of materials and services for projects according to LOM and construction programs.
\nPeople Management
\nLead the team of contract administrators and Buyers in executing the strategy.
\nDrive cost savings in procurement.
\nHave direct people management responsibility for some Contract Administrators and Buyers.
\nSupport and contribute to team dynamics through personally displaying leadership and team attributes.
\nFacilitate the supplier risk management for regional core commodities and drive procurement process maturity in the region.
\nTraining & Experience
\nFormal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):<\/p>\n
\nMining experience preferred.<\/p>\n
\nPrior experience in procurement on Capital Projects desirable.<\/p>\n
