The position\u00a0is based in Tema, Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Head of Transport\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Only applications through Adexen website will be considered for this job vacancy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the day-to-day transportation operations of the company; supervise employees, delegating tasks accordingly, monitoring performance, and conducting regular follow-ups with business objectives<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for direction\u00a0of the transport department, including operations, maintenance, safety\/compliance, equipment, and personnel<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for purchasing\u00a0new trucks, trailers and other necessary equipment and systems<\/li>\n<li>Optimise and reduce\u00a0operational expenses while maximizing equipment utilization<\/li>\n<li>Determine staffing levels, job descriptions and assist in the recruitment of drivers and support staff<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the strategic direction of the transport department.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure profitability by controlling costs and enhancing trip performance<\/li>\n<li>Full responsibility for fleet maintenance and the mechanical workshops<\/li>\n<li>Ensure truck availability<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Sales and Finance departments to ensure the right rate is appropriately charged on services rendered by company transport.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and inspect the complete documentation<\/li>\n<li>Review and report logistics\/fleet performance<\/li>\n<li>Implement good working relationship with Regulatory Agencies to ensure smooth operation of the fleet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>B.Sc.\/M.Sc. in\u00a0Engineering, Transportation or any relevant discipline for the role<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 15 years experience in supply chain, transportation, or logistics<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years experience in a senior role within an international group or a leading logistics &amp; transportation company<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge: industry trends, supply chain processes, best practices, and compliance requirements<\/li>\n<li>Organizational and Planning skills<\/li>\n<li>Problem Solving and Analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of route planning and Driver management<\/li>\n<li>Communication\u00a0and Commercial\u00a0skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adexen was mandated by an international company to recruit an experienced Head of Transport for its operations.
