The position will be based in Accra, Ghana with travel to the project sites across Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Cote D\u2019Ivoire<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Low Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) Team Lead\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>The person will be responsible for helping identify, establish, implement and monitor REDD+ activities in in West Africa. He\/she will work in close collaboration with the project leadership in Accra, Winrock\u2019s home office, and field-based LEDS staff. The expert will mobilize field teams, monitor on-the-ground performance, coordinate with partner organizations, and ensure achievement of project results under this objective. The position will require frequent travel to field location sites within the project area.<\/p>\n<p>OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help conduct feasibility studies for potential REDD+ demonstration sites;<\/li>\n<li>Help in designing the interventions as well as implementation and monitoring of field-based activities<\/li>\n<li>Building relationship with key stakeholders working on REDD at the National level and partners at the local level<\/li>\n<li>Implement technical activities related to REDD+<\/li>\n<li>Supervise REDD+ activities and pilot projects;<\/li>\n<li>Timely preparation and submission of reports and other deliverables;<\/li>\n<li>Provide awareness raising as necessary to partners, beneficiaries, and counterparts;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Advise on the four pillars of REDD+ including establishment of National Forest Monitoring Systems (NFMS); REDD+ Strategy; Safeguards and Forest Reference Levels.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct data review and analysis related to REDD+ including measuring reporting and verification (MRV) mechanisms;<\/li>\n<li>Completes other tasks as assigned by the Winrock Team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:<\/p>\n<p>Education:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree in Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Forestry or relevant international development field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Work Experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least seven years of relevant technical experience in forestry, forest carbon, carbon accounting, climate change mitigation, REDD+, CDM, and natural resource management projects, preferably in West Africa.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated and proven record working in a multidisciplinary team under changeable and complex circumstances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English, French proficiency required.<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel, is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Winrock would like to graciously thank all applicants for their interest but only candidates who meet all requisite criteria and are short listed will be contacted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Winrock International is seeking highly qualified candidates for a new USAID-funded West Africa Biodiversity and Low Emission Development program aimed at achieving meaningful and sustained reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG)&#8230;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6721,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"om_disable_all_campaigns":false,"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_is_tweetstorm":false,"jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":true,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[54],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_shortlink":"https:\/\/wp.me\/p2nO32-dWU","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/53624"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/6721"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=53624"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/53624\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=53624"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=53624"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=53624"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
