Job Title:\u00a0Senior Engineer Mining \u2013 Medium Term Planning\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

About This Role:<\/p>\n

To supervise and lead the Medium and Long-Term planning efforts at Ahafo North mine through directing and executing key functions such as:<\/p>\n

Medium and Long-Term Mine Design and Scheduling.
\nProject Analyses and Feasibility Studies.
\nOre Control.
\nReconciliations.
\nGeotechnical Analyses.
\nMine Engineering Systems Analyses and Design.
\nThe duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are notnecessarily all-inclusive.<\/p>\n

In This Role You Will:
\nBudget and Cost Control Management<\/p>\n

Provide S&ER with reclamation schedules and costs.
\nManage Medium Term Planning\u2019s expenditure within the approved budget and sign-off limits to maintain effective cost controls and savings.<\/p>\n

Health, Safety and Environment<\/p>\n

Deliver own prescribed outcomes and \/ or provide support services, by applying Newmont\u2019s Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies and protocols.
\nMeet mining objectives and conform to Newmont mining standards, geotechnical and operational physical standards to promote safe mining operations within legislative guidelines.
\nAssure that safety standards are adhered to.<\/p>\n

Medium-Term Planning Execution<\/p>\n

Compile and consolidate quarterly mine plan forecasts.
\nProvide expertise and guidance on cut-off grade boundaries to use for short-term and grade-control modeling.
\nOversee the execution of project analyses to determine Medium-Term mining efforts.
\nOversee the commissioning of project and future Life of Mine feasibility studies and request regular updates regarding outcomes.
\nOversee the implementation of detailed geotechnical analyses.
\nPrepare detailed reports aggregating conclusion reached out of analyses and feasibility studies.<\/p>\n

Mine Planning<\/p>\n

Lead the open pit budget process for the site and supervise the creation of Life of Mine Plan during each budget and forecasting cycle.
\nDevelop Life of Mine (LOM) business plan to safely, efficiently and cost effectively determine the future mining feasibilities of Ahafo North mine by overseeing:
\nLOM Scheduling (mining sequencing).
\nLOM Metal Process Blending.
\nLOM Cost Modeling with Xeras.
\nProvide technical expertise to all Mine Planning and production teams to enable full optimisation of miningoperations.
\nProduce the LOM Mining Operations cost model.
\nDetermine final outputs of the LOM cost model.
\nManage mine planning resources and software to deliver business section targets.
\nCommunicate to the mine site and wider region, the developed LOM business plan mining assumptions and LOM mining plan and costs.<\/p>\n

Tool Management<\/p>\n

Initiate fleet KPI\u2019s activity refresh, based on predictive modeling.
\nModel KPI\u2019s for LOM planning, based on SQL Data extractions from dispatch database servers; data transformation (R\/Python and Excel) and predictive modeling (R\/Python).
\nInitiate mining fleets activity refresh through coordinating the update of the fleets list.
\nUtilise the minesight pit expansion tool to design or redesign\/ modify pits, dumps and stockpiles.<\/p>\n

Stakeholder Management<\/p>\n

Engage with relevant Subject Matter Experts at Global Headquarters to leverage best practices into Medium Term Planning approach.
\nCollaborate with Site and Regional Finance and Business Planning teams, Regional Strategic Planning teams and S&ER leadership to adequately fulfil Life of Mine objectives.
\nFacilitate external stakeholder requests to enable smooth and efficient running of mine planning processes to address and resolve issues in a timely manner.
\nCommunicate key pieces of the business plan to relevant departments to ensure all departments costs are aligned to the Business Plan.<\/p>\n

Staff Management<\/p>\n

Lead the Mine Engineers in the execution of tasks.
\nTrain, coach, and mentor allocated Mine Engineers as well as assist with personal career planning.
\nConduct performance appraisals and recommend further \/ relevant training courses and development actions.

Experience:<\/p>\n

Minimum 7 \u2013 8 years\u2019 experience in a Surface Mining field within a large-scale Open Pit mining environment.
\nExtensive Mine Planning experience in a range of mining applications.
\nExtensive site-mine planning experience in multi-mine, multiprocess situations.
\nHigh level of experience in Project Evaluation.
\nExperience in differing ore deposits for gold and multi-element base metals.<\/p>\n

Technical Skills:<\/p>\n

Strong technical acumen in Mine Planning systems and software.
\nExtensive mine planning experience in a range of mining applications.
\nKnowledge of exploration methods, resource estimation.
\nExperience in differing ore deposits for gold and multi-element base metals.
\nSite mine planning experience in multi-mine, multi-process situations.
\nSeasoned knowledge of; mine methods, mine design, production scheduling, equipment selection, reserve estimation, maintenance development and expert systems.
\nHigh level of experience in project evaluation.
\nHigh level of competence in the use of mine planning software, including optimal techniques and cash flow analysis.
