Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0Environment Officer \u2013 Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n About This Role:<\/p>\n Coordinate all environmental aspects relating to environment compliance to ensure all related environmental policies, procedures and standards, Ghanaian laws and regulations as well as Newmont Corporate Environmental Standards are complied with at all times. Track compliance of operational activities and report non-compliances immediately to Environment Supervisor. Environmental Reporting<\/p>\n Manage data collection from NGGL Operations departments to support preparation of required reports\/documents to satisfy legal, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements. Audits and Inspection<\/p>\n Conduct environmental audits and inspections, both internal and external (vendor facilities and contractors). Team Leadership<\/p>\n Review monitoring schedules. Safety<\/p>\n Report all incidents and accidents in the work group to enable management to identify areas for improvement in work practices. First degree in Environmental Science or related fields.<\/p>\n Additional Knowledge:<\/p>\n Knowledge of Ghanaian Environmental Regulations as they apply to mining. \nIn This Role You Will:
\nEnvironmental Compliance<\/p>\n
\nDevelop corrective action plans and track to completion, where required.
\nAnalyse data and ensure non-compliances are immediately reported to the Environment Supervisor for investigation.
\nIdentify trends in environmental monitoring data.
\nReport all non-compliance issues immediately.
\nAssist in managing the environmental data system by continuously collating and validating environmental data and updating the database from field monitoring programs and from results of laboratory analysis.
\nActively participate in environmental awareness program for all Ahafo North Employees and Contractors.
\nMaintain compliance data files through proven document control procedures.
\nReview Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various environmental activities.<\/p>\n
\nComply with the compilation of regular reports assigned to this position (EPA and WRC reports) as required.<\/p>\n
\nAssist in the coordination of site visits of the Environmental Protection Agency, Mineral Commission, Water Resources Commission and\/or other (regulatory) agencies for environmental inspections and audits as well as third party auditors.
\nParticipate in environmental risk assessment process.<\/p>\n
\nSupervise Environment Technician(s) \u2013 Compliance.<\/p>\n
\nDemonstrate leadership in safety and comply with Newmont Ghana HSLP policies and procedures that involve but are not limited to Safety Inspections, Safety Training, Annual Refresher, Safety Talks, Incident Reporting and Investigation etc.
\nPresent information accurately at safety\/environment meetings.
\nAssist Business Partners in undertaking job hazard analysis.
