The position is based in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Operations Director<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To oversee all aspects of operations function, while maintaining a high level of service to customers, measuring and monitoring vendor and staff performance and controlling overall operational costs.<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Consciously establishes a culture that encourages customer focus, individual development, efficiency, collaboration, and creates an environment for process improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Upholds and ensures that all Group policies and procedures are followed and maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Implementation and management of Group\u00a0organizational structure and process, as it pertains to Port Operations, Equipment, Transport Dispatch and Maintenance &amp; Repair functions.<\/li>\n<li>Chair staff meetings to review and guide progress of costs savings initiatives and operational priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate purchasing services, vendor contracts, and evaluations per Group policies.<\/li>\n<li>Equipment control management of all company owned and leased equipment, including maintenance and repair.<\/li>\n<li>Resolution of high level concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor performance benchmarking figures to recognize and appraise personnel and to guide them for improved performance when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Represent Area within committees, pursuing efficiencies, cost savings thru the sharing of resources and services.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain working knowledge of all governmental rules and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in various\u00a0working groups, business processes and any areas as requested by Senior management.<\/li>\n<li>Assist local management in selection\/hiring of staff.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain communication with local managers, providing, and disseminating updated information regarding\u00a0policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with other area Directors on process improvement and communication flow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desired Skills and Experience<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree from a recognised University<\/li>\n<li>10 years of experience in\u00a0Maritime business and logistics Industry<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior position within an international company<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in West Africa is a plus<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of technical aspects: vessel operations,\u00a0port terminals, containers operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"gray-text\">We thank all applicants however only those selected will be contacted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adexen was mandated by an international maritime group to recruit a Operations Director\u00a0for\u00a0its operations.
