Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: Database Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n Successful candidates will be required to perform the following duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Maintain and enhance the performance of existing database programmes. Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Academic Certificate: A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or another related field. \n\u2022 Assist database development teams in designing new database programmes that meet the Service\u2019s data storage needs.
\n\u2022 Monitor databases and related systems to ensure optimised performance
\n\u2022 Write new support programmes and scripts to increase data storage capacity.
\n\u2022 Review database and user reports, as well as system information
\n\u2022 Adhere to best practices in securely storing backing up and archiving data
\n\u2022 Document processes related to database design, configuration and performance
\n\u2022 Keep abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Professional Certificate: Relevant Database Engineering Certifications eg. OCA (Oracie), OCM (Oracia), MTA (Microsoft). MCSA (Microsoft), MCSE(Microsoft), DA2 certifications IEM) andRelevant SAP-accredited certifications are a plus.<\/p>\n
