Research<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duty Post:<\/strong>\u00a0Conservation Education Centre, Accra<br \/>\n<strong>Reports to:<\/strong>\u00a0Executive Director<br \/>\n<strong>Supervises:<\/strong>\u00a0Programme Managers (KBAs\/IBAs, Migratory Birds and Flyways, Marine conservation)<br \/>\n<strong>Contract Duration:<\/strong>\u00a0One-year (renewable based on performance)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Responsible for the development, coordination, supervision and implementation of the Society\u2019s Conservation and Biodiversity Research and programmes.<br \/>\n\u2022 Specific duties will include fundraising and project management, identification, planning and execution of mission oriented scientific research on biodiversity conservation issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification Required &amp; Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A second degree, preferably PhD in the biological sciences (Botany, Zoology, etc.) Natural Resources Management or a related field with minimum of 5 years\u2019 experience in a scientific officer position.<br \/>\n\u2022 Track record in project proposal development, coordination of field projects and programme staff is crucial.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven communication skills (written and oral, particularly scientific reporting and presentation).<br \/>\n\u2022 Familiarity with basic computer applications and software (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, GIS, STATA and others).<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to use statistical tools to analyse scientific data is required.<br \/>\n\u2022 A strong technical background and understanding of a range of conservation issues, including protected area management, sustainable agriculture in conservation landscapes, conservation financing.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven experience of large-size (over 1million Euros) project implementation, including financial management and administration.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience managing teams to deliver complex projects.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience working with partners, government institutions and communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Accra<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply For The Job<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates should send a cover letter, a full CV, and a two-page vision statement for the position to:<\/p>\n<p><strong>sibci@ghanawildlifesociety.org<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates may visit\u00a0<strong>www.ghanawildlifesociety.org<\/strong>\u00a0to download the terms of reference for the position.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Date:<\/strong>\u00a031 January, 2021<\/p>\n<p>Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description Job Title:\u00a0Director, Conservation &amp;
