Our Global Support Unit (70 staff) backstops our teams around the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Advisor, Climate and Collaborative Resource Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information on SNV, visit our website:\u00a0www.snv.org<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview of the Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SNV is implementing projects in the land use, inclusive business, and tree crop commodity value chain sectors. The projects aim to promote sustainable intensification, climate smart agriculture and other measures toward finding the right balance in sustainable crop production systems while maintaining other vital ecosystem services. The shaded cocoa agroforestry systems project (SCAFS) with funding support from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU); and the Collaborative Learning for Climate Smart Cocoa (CLCSC) with funding support from the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are contributing to this landscape initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The Collaborative Learning for Climate Smart Cocoa (CLCSC) project which is being implemented in partnership with CIFOR-ICRAF seeks to support policy priorities that enable farmers to adopt climate smart cocoa practices and technologies. This will be achieved by designing and implementing locally appropriate capacity development activities and institutionalizing social learning structures to promote climate smart technologies. The project targets 15,000 smallholders toward adopting climate smart cocoa practices and facilitates integrated land use planning by strengthening Community Resource Management Areas(CREMAs). This is expected to contribute to locally-owned collaborative landscape governance system that is needed to effectively protect forests reserves and off-reserve forestlands.<\/p>\n<p>SNV Ghana is currently seeking applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of\u00a0<strong>Advisor ,Climate and Collaborative Resource Management.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"title\">Job Description<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coordinating all CLCSC project activities in partnership with key stakeholders and project communities to deliver up to the required quality standard. The Advisor will lead formation of collaborative learning platforms, organising and supporting collaborative learning programmes among Community Resource Management Areas (CREMAs); promote adoption of recommended climate smart technologies and document uptake, coordinate field research works and engagement of relevant sector organisations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Technical support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the engagement of partners at all levels (e.g.\u00a0 sector agencies, relevant CSOs, District Assemblies and private sector organisations etc.,) towards delivery of project outputs;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in developing protocols for field data collection, accessing secondary data from relevant institutions, collating, analysing and reporting in close partnership with relevant project partners;<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical input in developing and introducing learning platforms and \u00a0participatory Forest Monitoring;<\/li>\n<li>Provide support in organising and facilitating meetings\/workshops\/trainings and other capacity building activities;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to preparation of lessons learnt on project implementation and integration of lessons into strategic areas of SNV and opportunities for SNV to further develop relevant programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Project Manager to establish relevant partnerships and networks towards resource mobilisation and repositioning of SNV\u2019s resource mobilisation drive;<\/li>\n<li>Proactively support the development and implementation of fund raising and resource mobilisation strategies using integrated sector approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administrative support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordination with key project partners develop detailed activity plans and budget, prepare paperwork and liaise with relevant project partners and stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Make logistical arrangements and coordinate all (financial, human and time) resources for activities, e.g. meetings, trainings, workshops, consultants, field surveys, etc.;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in managing all local project contracts, consultants and other local suppliers of good and services;<\/li>\n<li>Support and maintenance proper project progress documentation and management of contracts;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Monitoring and Evaluation; and progress reporting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor activity implementation progress and quality of fieldwork implemented by consultant service providers;<\/li>\n<li>Assist in preparing and updating regularly, work plans and reports, news articles, and other knowledge products of the project to keep project partners informed about project progress;<\/li>\n<li>Other tasks related to project management and implementation as may be required by the project manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"title\">Qualifications<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree in Environmental or Development Studies, Forestry, social sciences or similar\/related disciplines;<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years of relevant experience in similar roles supporting environmental and social safeguards, forestry and\/or rural development projects implemented by national\/international NGOs;<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in development work, preferably related to multi-stakeholder platforms and participatory research.<\/li>\n<li>Proven capacity to supervise and coordinate field work teams<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ability to work under local conditions and spend long periods in the field<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Proven capacity to synthesize and report on field work activities<\/li>\n<li>Strong commitment to assigned tasks, sense of responsibility and ability to work independently with minimum supervision;<\/li>\n<li>Computer proficiency in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Email);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SNV is a not-for-profit international development organisation that applies practical know-how to make a lasting difference in the lives of people living in poverty.
