The WATCH project is a Community Based Health Intervention to Save Mothers, Newborns and Children and it is being implemented and managed by Plan Ghana.\u00a0With Plan International in Canada providing technical backstopping<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The job purpose of the project manager is to lead and provide technical expertise in the implementation and management of all activities under the WATCH project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Management of the Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (MNCH) Strategy<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the design, work planning and management of the WATCH Project in 6 Districts in the Eastern and Volta Regions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the WATCH project delivers high quality programming that is compliant with best practice as outlined by Plan Ghana&#8217;s Country Strategic Plan and Ghana Government guidelines and policies on MNCH<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the Ghana Health Service and other relevant stakeholders in project planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the activities of local NGO partners working under the project<\/li>\n<li>Develop training programs and facilitate the training of professional Health workers, and partners in collaboration with the\u00a0Ghana Health Service<\/li>\n<li>Supervise field based Project Coordinators to deliver all WATCH related activities<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and organize review meetings at the regional and national levels in collaboration with Ghana Health Service on WATCH<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Gender and Child Protection is mainstreamed in all WATCH related activities<\/li>\n<li>Monitor financial, logistical and reporting aspects of the WATCH project assuring compliance with CIDA&#8217;s legal and reporting requirements<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective\u00a0<strong>partnerships and networking in the delivery\u00a0<\/strong>of the\u00a0<strong>WATCH<\/strong>\u00a0project activities<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain productive collaborative relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, the GHS\/MOH, UNICEF, WHO, other donors, and NGOs (at the National level and field level as appropriate) to effectively assure that WATCH&#8217;s activities are collaborative and complementary<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement strategies for improved networking by partners and sharing of best practices learned in the course of implementing WATCH activities, in order to accelerate program implementation and impact<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to policy working groups\/technical committees on the development of guidelines, tools, materials for wider use in the MNCH Sector<\/li>\n<li>In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, be responsible for ensuring planning and ongoing monitoring of the programme against WATCH objectives and planned results<\/li>\n<li>Compile, analyze, and disseminate, on a regular basis, reports to Country Management Team on WATCH project<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and submit quality and timely periodic donor required reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A university degree in Midwifery or Nursing with a\u00a0background in Public Health, Health Promotion Sciences, Social Science or\u00a0development work; or a medical doctor with background in Public Health or Health Promotion Sciences; or equivalent\u00a0in a related field<\/li>\n<li>At\u00a0least 5 years work experience in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health with specific experience managing a donor funded project<\/li>\n<li>Experience in designing integrated participatory strategies; font-weight: bold;\">Health Specialist<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>This is a middle management position based in the Country Office, Accra. The position reports directly to the Country Director (CD).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<br \/>\n<\/strong>To coordinate, advise on and implement communication and Public Relations (PR) programs, projects and activities, and to contribute to Plan becoming a recognized voice for child rights and children&#8217;s issues.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop communication and PR strategies and annual plans, to improve communication both internally and externally and to promote Plan to key country audiences<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates the creation of a strong professional image of Plan amongst external media to reach the right audience<\/li>\n<li>Organize the roll-out of corporate and region-wide initiatives on Communications and PR at country level to promote Plan<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage relationships with national media, journalist networks as well as NGOs and government authorities in the area of communication to ensure Plan communications reach the right audience<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to sharing and learning about Plan&#8217;s country program work through efficient use of internal and external communication channels and systems to ensure what Plan Ghana does is well communicated<\/li>\n<li>Supports measures to strengthen the capacity of staff to communicate using a variety of channels and for different audiences to support the effective dissemination of Plan programmes and projects<\/li>\n<li>Ensure gender mainstreaming into communications and public relations activities and maintain gender sensitivity towards staff to avoid discrimination<\/li>\n<li>Support\/facilitation of media visits at country level to ensure the objectives are well met<\/li>\n<li>Produce regular communication materials for use on Plan&#8217;s international, internal and external websites (at least one story per month) to tell the Plan Ghana story<\/li>\n<li>Develop and ensure the dissemination of press releases, publications, flyers, posters and other PR and information\/communication material destined for external audiences<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that communication and PR activities meet Plan&#8217;s child protection standards and standards for ethical journalism<\/li>\n<li>Produces, manages and monitors PR budget of the country office to ensue value for money is attained at all times<\/li>\n<li>Efficient management of communication in crisis\/disaster situations to create the right environment.
