The British High Commission (BHC) Accra has vacancy for a Political Officer. This is a high-profile leadership position within the BHC, requiring the job-holder to engage across a wide spectrum of political and other networks in Ghana.<\/p>\n

The job-holder will provide day-to-day analysis of internal political developments in Ghana (this may, in due course, be extended to include Togo, developing and leading the delivery of the UK\u00a0Government’s support to monitoring and reporting of Ghana’s 2012 elections. To do this, the job-holder will need to liaise pro-actively with key contacts at all levels in political parties, chieftaincy and Royal family groups, regional players and faith groups, and be as confident operating outside of Accra as in the capital. The job-holder will undertake this work within the context of the objectives set for the UK\/Ghana bilateral relationship by, and in response to the tasking of, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in London.
