Our Africa Against Poverty Programme (AAP) started in 2006 and this 3rd Phase is scheduled to run to 2014. The goal is to address global structural causes of poverty and to collaborate with others &#8211; both nationally, regionally and internationally &#8211; to spark activities that influence policies and strategies that eliminate poverty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>I<em>BIS &#8211; a Danish INGO\u00a0operating in Ghana since 2001 &#8211; is seeking a Programme\u00a0Director experienced in governance\/conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Although based in Accra the WAHRD programme works across Ghana, Togo, Guinea, Sierra\u00a0Leone, Liberia\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Cote D&#8217; Ivoire. IBIS promotes interface between civil society\u00a0organisations and government\u00a0&amp; the\u00a0Programme Director will need to demonstrate\u00a0experience in this area. This senior management post is both an exciting and challenging position and\u00a0offers a unique opportunity for the right individual\u00a0to make a significant impact in furthering the strategic development of this successful programme.<\/p>\n<p><\/em><strong>The Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall strategic programme direction &amp; contribution to the development of organisation wide strategy &amp; policy<\/li>\n<li>Enabling cross organisational learning processes both within IBIS and with partner organisations<\/li>\n<li>Leading planning, evaluation and documentation processes both with IBIS and with partner organisations<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating the effective operation and capacity development of platforms, networks and partners<\/li>\n<li>Advising &amp; contributing to peacemaking processes at local, national, regional levels<\/li>\n<li>Contribution and supporting the Senior Management Team within IBIS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>You will be joining a dynamic team of committed professionals working in a supportive team environment where gender and diversity are valued. The post attracts a good remuneration and benefits package.<br \/>\n<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Master&#8217;s level degree or equivalent level in understanding in governance, peace building, human rights or any related social sciences<\/li>\n<li>Practical conflict resolution experience in designing &amp; implementing conflict resolution &amp; peace-building interventions, including experience of working with partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Experience in programme design and management<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working in West Africa, preferably within the Mano River Union Countries;<\/li>\n<li>Working with national and regional partner organisations<\/li>\n<li>Proven skills in management of resources, strategic planning, financial planning and control<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and relationship building skills including team leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of ECOWAS, the Conflict Prevention Framework and other relevant Protocols<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel widely within the Region<\/li>\n<li>Ability to speak and write French would be desirable<\/li>\n<li>The ability to speak French would also be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Application forms and other relevant data can be downloaded from:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metacept.org\/\">www.metacept.org<\/a>\u00a0or by email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:metacept@hotmail.com\">metacept@hotmail.com<\/a>.
