The Institute of Accountancy Training (IAT), under the Ministry of Finance was established in 1970 to provide in-service training in Public Administration, Public Sector Accounting, and Public Sector Financial Management for the Ministry\u2019s as well as the city and the public services\u2019 staff.<\/p>\n

The Institute, currently undergoing restructuring needs to strengthen its administrative structure to help implement the reforms. Applications are therefore invited from qualified officers for the following vacancy:<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Stenographer Secretary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 The successful applicants will be responsible for providing operational and secretarial support for the day-to-day general administration of the Institute.<\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Type letters and other reports
\n\u2022 Send out notices for meetings and arrange venues and other meeting materials
\n\u2022 Record proceedings of meetings and transcribe
\n\u2022 Develop routine correspondence and memoranda
\n\u2022 Receive and forward complaints from the public as may be required
\n\u2022 Maintain relevant database and files in an easy-to-retrieve format or as may be requested
\n\u2022 Ensure that all office equipment is clean and in working order<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 A minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial ship Management or Business or its equivalent and have completed the mandatory national Service<\/p>\n

or<\/p>\n

\u2022 Must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate with five (5) passes in core and elective subjects including English and Mathematics OR \u2018O\u2019 Level Certificate with three (3) credits including English OR GCE \u2018A\u2019 Level Certificate with two (2) passes (excluding General paper) and Stenographer Secretary Certificate OR DBS Secretarial OR RSA stage 2 OR General Business Certificate Examination \u2018O\u2019 level from a recognised Institution and have a minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience.
\n\u2022 Must pass a competitive selection interview<\/p>\n

Required Skills and Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Good knowledge of business communication systems
\n\u2022 Good computer skills in relevant software
\n\u2022 Excellent human relations and customer care skills
\n\u2022 Strong organisational skills
\n\u2022 Ability to work effectively for long hours and under pressure
\n\u2022 Good problem solving and analytical skills
\n\u2022 French language proficiency
\n\u2022 Supervisory skills<\/p>\n
