The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: Underground Shiftboss<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The Shiftboss role is a regulatory mandated role that leads the Quality Assurance and Control and ensures compliance to the mining and other related legislation. The incumbent will also manage risk of all underground mining ore extraction activities to the required standards.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish the necessary production processes and practices for the redevelopment of the Obuasi Mine<\/li>\n<li>Maintain good working knowledge of the following relevant provisions applicable to the mine:\n<ul>\n<li>Mineral and Mining (Health and Safety and Technical) Regulations 2012(L.I 282)<\/li>\n<li>Mineral and Mining (Explosives) Regulations 2012(L.I 2177)<\/li>\n<li>All internal Occupational Health and Safety Standards and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Occupational Health and Safety Management system requirements<\/li>\n<li>Managerial Instructions and Code of Practice<\/li>\n<li>Compliance with Labour Act, AGA and Obuasi HR policies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Assist in development of the annual production cost centre budget to achieve the required targets for achieving annual, medium term and Life of Mine (LoM) business plans<\/li>\n<li>Deliver the work of the production function within approved budget targets and specified timeframes, costs and related KPIs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate Safety Leadership and improve the Culture across the production department and with own production team regarding Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainable Development<\/li>\n<li>Provide the resources and expertise to develop the team to capably and consistently deliver the annual budget, according to their role and level of authority<\/li>\n<li>Recommend and optimize the approach for conducting specialist projects and research in the production process and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Report on the development and progress of initiatives and enhancements of the production function, to include outputs and befits obtained.<\/li>\n<li>Present solutions to specific problems with defined resolution methodologies and resources to deliver improved performance in processes and procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc. \/ Diploma degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Three (3) to Five (5) years\u2019 operational experience within an underground mining environment of which at least two (2) years is at supervisory level;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience and knowledge of fundamental underground development and production methods<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in the use of Mining Software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Legal Requirement<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Underground Shiftboss Certificate of Competency or equivalent, as required by the Minerals Commission (Chief Inspector of Mines)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent Communication Skills<\/li>\n<li>Understands the mining processes and actively contributes in part to delivery of the expected outcome \/ service the mining processes deliver.<\/li>\n<li>Has demonstrated ability to apply technical skills and\/or delivery of a service within one or more of the mining processes with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n<li>Can identify potential problems and propose solutions for higher approval.<\/li>\n<li>Directly responsible for delivering a production aspect of the plan.<\/li>\n<li>Understands good underground production practices, management, support systems, and how each should interact to deliver targeted performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Other Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating a disciplined team to deliver the planned work to the defined standards.<\/li>\n<li>Managing oneself \u2013 taking ownership of one\u2019s personal development.<\/li>\n<li>Building effective working relationships \u2013 the ability to build and maintain effective collateral and cross functional working relationship;<\/li>\n<li>Building trust &amp; accountability \u2013 displaying high levels of integrity and honesty;<\/li>\n<li>Maximizing performance &amp; achievement of results \u2013 solving problems and analyzing issues, driving for results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"sharedaddy sd-sharing-enabled\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
