{"id":6278,"date":"2011-11-24T01:07:35","date_gmt":"2011-11-24T01:07:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=6278"},"modified":"2011-11-24T01:07:35","modified_gmt":"2011-11-24T01:07:35","slug":"director-of-the-department-of-children-vacancy-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/director-of-the-department-of-children-vacancy-in-ghana.html","title":{"rendered":"Director of the Department of Children Vacancy in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><em><strong>The Civil Service Council<\/strong> invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians who are goal oriented, results driven with exceptional leadership qualities, enthusiasm and innovation for appointment to the following position.<br \/>\n<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Object of the Position:<br \/>\n<\/strong>To provide overall professional and administrative leadership, vision, strategic direction, guidance and supervision for the operations of the Departments.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide leadership and guidance for determining policies and objectives within the Department and the implementation of the policies and objectives;<\/li>\n<li>Co-ordinate work programme and provide rules, guidelines and procedures to facilitate the achievement of targets set by the Ministry<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective organization and development of training programmes consistent with sectoral policies and programmes;<\/li>\n<li>Establish systems for effective departmental collaboration, co-ordination and co-operation to avoid duplication and to achieve harmonization<\/li>\n<li>Develop systems of effective work flow and feed-back on the activities within the Department;<\/li>\n<li>Put in place effective resource mobilization strategies for the sourcing of funds from development partners for effective implementation of programmes and activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of a Masters Degree in Social Science; Preferably, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Public\/Business Administration or equivalent related discipline from an Accredited Tertiary Institution<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of twelve (12) years post-qualification relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competence and Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong managerial organizational and strategic leadership skills;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to think broadly and demonstration of creativity;<\/li>\n<li>Good leadership and decision making skills;<\/li>\n<li>Strong administrative and supervisory skills;<\/li>\n<li>Good team player;<\/li>\n<li>Strong quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills;<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in computer application;<\/li>\n<li>Conversant with the Financial Administration Act, the Public Procurement Act and the Internal Audit Agency Act;<\/li>\n<li>Conversant with development policy priorities and international treaties and protocols on gender<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications should\u00a0 be forwarded together with supporting documents, a statement of applicant&#8217;s vision for the position, a comprehensive document on a five (5) year development plan for the Board, Curriculum Vitae, office and residential telephone numbers, e-mail and addresses of three (3) referees to:<\/p>\n<div><strong>THE SECRETARY<br \/>\nPUBLIC SERVICES COMMISSION<br \/>\nP.
