The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: Transport Officer<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Transport Officer is accountable for the monitoring and control of documentation and permits that covers Fleet Documentation, Inspections, Permits and Driver management as well as controlling of pool vehicles to standard. This is the point of control of operator skills in compliance to operate mobile plant, equipment and vehicles underground.<\/p>\n<p>Also accountable for the transition to operations, through the application of operational policies, standards, processes and procedures to maximise plant availability in a sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks in order to meet the business\u2019 strategic objective.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work according to total quality management principles &amp; ensure zero defect objectives &amp; safety.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to site\u2019s Environmental Management Plan.<\/li>\n<li>Gather information for the Superintendent \u2013 HME\/LV &amp; Trucks for reporting performance.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic audits of all vehicle and driver documentation to verify compliance with all regulations<\/li>\n<li>Conduct reviews of the document control mechanisms and processes to identify actions for continuous improvement<\/li>\n<li>Organise information for the Superintendent \u2013 LME\/HME to develop condition monitoring equipment checks;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all pre-start checks are being carried out and check sheets completed and entered into document review, that all anomalies and issues are being correctly escalated for repair and maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all vehicles are programmed to be and are maintained in accordance with OEM requirements to maintain asset value<\/li>\n<li>Set, monitor and control the quality of work to develop roster and fleet and driver movement schedule for travels and pick up arrangement to and from airport, Obuasi, Kumasi and Accra<\/li>\n<li>Analyse and trend predictive maintenance to determine vehicle condition and report this condition for action;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor general physical condition of plant assets and report<\/li>\n<li>Monitor preventive and corrective actions as necessary;<\/li>\n<li>Generate work requests in SAP as required for vehicle maintenance planning and scheduling<\/li>\n<li>Ensure routine condition monitoring tasks are performed on all the rotating equipment by data collection, example oil analysis for engine and transmission, according to the established schedules and also as required by AGAG instructions<\/li>\n<li>Gather information on vibration &amp; other data reported and collected in order to diagnose \/ troubleshoot rotating machinery problems.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate in maintenance review programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of AGAG and contractor vehicles as required.<\/li>\n<li>Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Propose cost savings projects.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Execute work in a timely manner; coordinate document and transport work to time plan, escalate real or potential delays.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tertiary qualification in Mechanical\/Automobile Maintenance or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 5+ years of relevant experience<\/li>\n<li>An experienced document control officer, with experience of mine vehicle permits, operator permits and compliance<\/li>\n<li>Understand Ghana Highway Codes<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of SAP PM Module<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Legal Requirement<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Must possess high grade Ghanaian Valid license<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong document control competencies in mining environment<\/li>\n<li>Should have analytical skills to be able to evaluate information and solve complex problems.<\/li>\n<li>Commercially astute and able to work effectively with third parties.<\/li>\n<li>Legally astute with respect to project delivery and maintenance system<\/li>\n<li>Excellent skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Other Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build and sustain a team of subordinates capable of producing those outputs;<\/li>\n<li>Continuously improve the processes used by the team in delivering outputs;<\/li>\n<li>Model work behaviors for your subordinates,<\/li>\n<li>Consistent with the company values<\/li>\n<li>To support and motivate the construction project team to deliver the project goals.<\/li>\n<li>Create an environment of teamwork and willingness to help coworkers<\/li>\n<li>Able to work different kinds of people<\/li>\n<li>Organizational skills to keep track of many workers, schedules, and budgets all at once<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested Ghanaians with the above qualification and experience should submit their applications, with detailed CV.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
