CRS\u2019 relief and development work is accomplished through programs of emergency response, HIV, health, agriculture, education, microfinance and peacebuilding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Finance Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will support the Finance department\u2019s management of accounting systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with CRS\u2019 established accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donors\u2019 rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable. As part of an experienced finance team, you will help coordinate daily financial activities through preparation and delivery of financial services.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance Officer will report directly to the Deputy Finance Manager and is responsible for delivery of accounting and financial reporting services for the Country Program ensuring strict compliance to Country Program\/Agency policies and Donor Fund regulations<\/p>\n<p>Roles and Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Review and validate supporting documentation before processing of financial transactions to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete and authorizations are in place<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely recording of financial transactions following appropriate authorizations. Review and analyze various accounts to detect irregularities. Advise on corrective actions and prepare correcting entries and adjustments, as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Help ensure maintenance of all data required for processing financial transactions for assigned accounts in Project Insight, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial accounting package.<\/li>\n<li>Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorizations. Review various accounts to detect irregularities.<\/li>\n<li>Help evaluate subrecipient financial management processes in accordance with policy and help strengthen capacity of partner in financial accounting and transactions.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare delegated financial reports, as needed,<\/li>\n<li>Help share information with subrecipients and staff on financial accounting policies and procedural compliance issues.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as required or assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Location: Tamale<\/p>\n<p>Basic Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration strongly preferred. Courses in accounting, or a qualification in accounting (CPA\/ACCA or equivalent).<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience, preferably with an international or local NGO, or a financial\/banking institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required Languages \u2013 List languages required to perform the job<\/p>\n<p>Travel \u2013 include percentage of required travel, if applicable. Could be stated as Must be willing and able to travel up to 10 %.<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Excellent analytical skills with ability to detect and report inconsistencies<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics<\/li>\n<li>Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and results-oriented<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Familiarity the relevant public donors\u2019 regulations a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in Excel and experience with Word and PowerPoint.
