Librarian<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The successful candidate shall be responsible to the Rector in the management of the Library Department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that the Library is stocked with current books, journals, non-book materials and other materials;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that housekeeping duties are performed daily in the Library;<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the preparation of working timetable for subordinates;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure efficient running of the Polytechnic&#8217;s e-library;<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a Public Relations Officer for the Library;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that books and other materials are properly classified and catalogued;<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the preparation of Accession Register and Acquisition Register<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Rector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a minimum of Masters Degree in Library Science or Studies;<\/li>\n<li>Must have at least ten (10) years post qualification experience in a Senior Management position in the field of Librarianship in a tertiary institution, industry or any relevant public service organization; or<\/li>\n<li>Must have served as Deputy Librarian for at least four (4) years<\/li>\n<li>Must have at least fifteen (15) refereed publications since appointment as a Librarian; at least five (5) of which should have been published after promotion to Deputy Librarian;<\/li>\n<li>Must possess a very good communication and inter personal skills<\/li>\n<li>Membership of a Professional Body in Librarianship would be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy is required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>5. Deputy LIbrarian<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The Deputy Librarian is an Assistant to the Librarian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversees the duties of a number of Senior Assistant Librarians and Assistant Librarians;<\/li>\n<li>Performs the duties of a Senior Assistant Librarian at a higher level of responsibility;<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible to the Librarian in the discharge of Library duties<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and train subordinate staff;<\/li>\n<li>Provide inputs for Departmental budgeting;<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Librarian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a minimum of Masters Degree in Library Science or Studies;<\/li>\n<li>Must have at least ten (10) refereed publications;<\/li>\n<li>Must have served as Senior Assistant Librarian for at least three (3) years in a tertiary institution; OR Must have at least six (6) years post qualification experience in Senior Management position in the field of Librarianship in industry or any relevant public service organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>6. \u00a0<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold;\">Administrative Assistant<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists in the supervision of the work of subordinates staff such as filing of documents, registration and distribution of mails\/memos\/letters, etc<\/li>\n<li>Assists in recording minutes at meetings<\/li>\n<li>Assists in word processing of minutes of meetings and reports, letters, memos, notices etc<\/li>\n<li>Assists in receiving visitors to offices;<\/li>\n<li>Assists in responding to inquiries from both internal and external public;<\/li>\n<li>Assists in managing telephone calls to and from offices;<\/li>\n<li>Assists in keeping records of office consumables<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a minimum of 1st degree in Administration or Management or HND in Sec &amp; Mgt.
