Government of Ghana has received a Loan and Grant from the African Development Fund, hereinafter called “Bank”, in various currencies towards the cost of the Development of Senior Secondary Education Project (DSSEP-Education III Project), and intends to apply the proceeds of this Loan to eligible payments under the project for the engagement of Clerks of works who are preferably resident in the respective districts to supervise constructional work at the following Senior High Schools (SHS) under the direction of the funds and procurement Management Unit (FPMU) of the Ministry of Education (MOE). The assignment is for duration of six (6) months.<\/p>\n

\nHalf Assini SHS – Jomoro
\nNyakrom SHS – Agona West
\nBompata SHS – Asante Akim South
\nWenchi SHS – Wenchi
\nJuabeso SHS – Juabeso
\nAkim Swedru SHS – Birem South
\nManya Krobo SHS – Manya Krobo
\nDonkorkrom SHS – Kwahu North<\/p>\n

Duties:<\/strong>
\nSuccessful Applicant will report to the Project Director and will be responsible for the following activites:
\nDaily supervision of site activities to ensure compliance of Contractors with contract specifications with regard to quality of materials and used
\nReview details and drawings for new structures and demonstrate an understanding of proposed structural forms
\nReview schedule of activities for rehabitation work in the light of current state of the structures
\nEnsuring that construction is in accordance with Working Drawings and details issued to contractors
\nPreparing weekly site reports using an agreed format and sending same to the FPMU in a timely manner
\nOrganising site meetings together with the beneficiary Headmaster
\nIssuing instructions covering the variation of the works after necessary consultations
\nArranging the inspection and handing over\/decommissioning of completed buildings to the beneficiary Headmaster
\nEnsuring the correction\/making good of any defects observed at practical completion
\nAssist contractor to prepare “As-built” drawings where required
\nTake photographs of structures to be rehabitated before and after they have been worked on
\nPlan and prioritise rehabitation work with School Authorities and contractor to ensure smooth implementation
\nReview of certificate<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

A committed Team player with a lot of initiative and open-mindedness
\nThorough knowledge of constructional detailing and rehabitation works
\nMust pay attention to detail<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong>
\nA Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Building Technology
\nA National Diploma in Architecture
\nA minimum of five (5) years post qualification experience on a site with many structures<\/p>\n
