Senior Assistant Secretary (Regional Secretary):<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures implementation of decisions, policies and programmes of GNAT in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Directs activities within the Region, relating to co-ordinating of, and participating in recruitment and retention of members<\/li>\n<li>Liaises with Executive Members, Division and Local Association officers<\/li>\n<li>Assists and supports Districts in negotiations with local authorities<\/li>\n<li>Assists in the co-ordination and execution of training programmes in the\u00a0Region consistent with the Unions national training programme(s)<\/li>\n<li>Assists in supporting, as appropriate, the national training programme, having regard to the needs of the Region<\/li>\n<li>Assists in dealing with personal cases<\/li>\n<li>Attends District and Local\u00a0Association meetings within the Region<\/li>\n<li>Liaises with\u00a0Governmental and Non-governmental Organisations, in matters related to education and welfare of teachers<\/li>\n<li>Monitors District and Local\u00a0Branches of the Association<\/li>\n<li>Appraises performance of District Secretaries<\/li>\n<li>Ensures financial discipline in the GNAT Secretariats in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Writes terminal and annual reports on activities including financial reports<\/li>\n<li>Projects and promotes the Union through the media in conjunction with the Regional Executive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Level of Responsibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible to the General Secretary though the Deputy General Secretary, Administration and Labour Relations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong>\u00a0As determined by the National Executive\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Applicant:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a professional teacher not below the rank of Assistant Director II with not less than 5 years experience on the Rank;<\/li>\n<li>Must possess a first degree from a recognised university;<\/li>\n<li>Should not be below 40 years or above 55 years of age at the time of appointment<\/li>\n<li>A working knowledge in basic computer applications in\u00a0Word, Excel, and Power Point will be an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Person Skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2: \u00a0Assistant Secretary (Assistant Regional Secretary)<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manages personnel in the Regional Secretariat<\/li>\n<li>Keeps records of all staff of GNAT in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Compiles educational statistics in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Takes minutes of Regional meetings of Sub-Committees, Council and Executives<\/li>\n<li>Ensures safe custody of Associations property in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Initiates economic and welfare activities in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Supervises and co-ordinates economic and welfare activities in the Districts<\/li>\n<li>Keeps records of Death and Retirement\u00a0Benefit payments to beneficiaries<\/li>\n<li>Vets vouchers for approval by the Regional\u00a0Treasurer<\/li>\n<li>Supervises Regional hostel activities and workers<\/li>\n<li>Provides returns on Death and Retirement, Budgetary Allocation to GNAT Headquarters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Level of Responsibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible to the General Secretary though the Deputy General Secretary, Administration and Labour non-bargaining activities<\/li>\n<li>Offers Technical Advise to the District Executive Committee<\/li>\n<li>Handles personal\u00a0cases of teachers<\/li>\n<li>Liaises with Governmental and non-governmental institutions in the the district<\/li>\n<li>Collects educational statistics in the district<\/li>\n<li>Writes monthly, termly and annual reports to the Region and
