Program Specialist:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:\u00a0<\/strong>UNDP, Accra<br \/>\n<strong>Type of Contract:<\/strong>\u00a0FTA<br \/>\n<strong>Level:\u00a0<\/strong>NOC<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary of the Assigned Duties:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Under the over all guidance of the Senior Governance Adviser, the Programme Specialist acts as advisor to Senior Management on all aspects of the CO\u00a0governance programme. He manages the governance portfolio while also providing direct technical leadership in key governance practice areas.\u00a0 The incumbent is responsible for the strategic, managerial and representational responsibilities. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring Programme Management focusing on assessing and analyzing the socio-political and governance issues in the country, and lead the preparation of CPAP, Annual Work Plans (AWPs) and other policy documents that informs the formulation of the governance and other programmes\/projects within the frameworks of UNDAF, UNDP CPD\/CPAP and relevant national policy documents as required<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring effective management of the Governance programme and supervision of the Programme team focusing on quality control of the full cycle of programming from formulation to Implementation<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring facilitation of knowledge Management and Learning by leading in knowledge-generation and sharing, identifying and disseminating information sources and learning opportunities for capacity development at both the individual and country office levels, as well as for the benefit of national institutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:\u00a0<\/strong>Competitive and in accordance with UN Guidelines<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates integrity by modeling the UN&#8217;s values and ethical standards<\/li>\n<li>Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP<\/li>\n<li>Actively works towards continuing personal learning and development in one or more Practice Areas,\u00a0acts on learning plan and applies newly acquired skills<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of the Results Based Management and related Tools and strong IT skills<\/li>\n<li>Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualification and Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master&#8217;s Degree or equivalent in political or social sciences or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services and hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.\u00a0 Experience in the use of computers and office software packages and handling of web based management systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>2.\u00a0Programme Specialist (Sustainable Human Development)<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Type of Contract:<\/strong>\u00a0FTA<br \/>\n<strong>Level:\u00a0<\/strong>NOC<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary of the Assigned Duties:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Under the guidance of the DCP(P) the Programme Specialist acts as a manager of and advisor to Senior Management on all aspects of the CO programme that relate to Sustainable Development. He\/she manages a major programme portfolio in the practice area &#8220;Energy and Environment&#8221; as well as Disaster Risk Reduction. His\/Her main role is to manage the country programme on all aspects dealing with sustainable development including monitoring of implementation of projects. The Programme Specialist for sustainable development leads his\/her team in strategic planning programme and project management and identifies new programme areas while ensuring consistency with UNDAF\/UNDAP and CPD priorities. He\/she finds creative responses to emerging challenges and opportunities.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a member of the Expanded Senior Management Meeting (ESMM), he\/she ensures the strategic direction of UNDP&#8217;s sustainable development cluster focusing on achievement of the thorough analysis of the political, social and economic situation in the country and collaborative preparation\/revision of CCA, UNDAF, CPD, UNDAP, AWP and other documents<\/li>\n<li>Ensures effective management of the sustainable development cluster and supervision of the cluster team focusing on quality control of the full cycle of programming from formulation to implementation achieving the effective monitoring achievement of results<\/li>\n<li>Ensures provision of top quality advisory services and facilitation of knowledge building and management, focusing on achievement of the identification of sources of information related to policy-driven issues. Identification and synthesis of best practices and lessons learned directly linked to programme country policy goals<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of advocacy networks for climate change mitigation and adaptation, disaster risk reduction, renewable energy and protection of biodiversity at national level and linked to international networks.
