Its main mission is to promote a peaceful and harmonious industrial relations in the country. The Commission consists of seven commissioners (nominated by government, employers and organised labour), inaugurated by the President on 6th April 2005, and a secretariat. The NLCs functions and powers are stipulated in sections 138 and 139 of the Act.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Duty Station: The duty station for both positions will be either Accra or Sekondi\/Takoradi and is dependent at the time of engagement<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position:<\/strong><br \/>\nWork at the Research Department<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Investigate complaints lodged with the Commission with respect to Unfair Labour Practices in an establishment or undertaking<br \/>\nResearch into the various issues that often result in labour disputes<br \/>\nResearch into various conventions and laws relating to rights of employers and employees and protection of employment<br \/>\nCarry out research in other areas that will be relevant to the Commission&#8217;s work<br \/>\nAssist in the resolution of complaint&#8217;s submitted to the Commission<br \/>\nSalary:<br \/>\nThe salary level attached to each of the above positions is attractive and commensurate to the position<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A good first degree in any of the Social Sciences<br \/>\nKnowledgeble in Collective Bargaining<br \/>\nWorking knowledge in Industrial Relations and in a similar field for at least two years<br \/>\nComputer Literate<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Requirements:<\/strong><br \/>\nDiploma\/Certificate in Industrial Relations<br \/>\nMust be able to work with little or no supervision<br \/>\nMust be able to work under pressure<br \/>\nA good command of the English Language both spoken and written<br \/>\nAbility to face challenges and use own initiative at difficult times<br \/>\nA call to the Ghana Bar with at least two (2) years post-call experience will be an added advantage<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All application must have the names\/addresses of two referees and should be addressed to:<br \/>\nThe Executive Secretary<br \/>\nNational Labour Commission (NLC)<br \/>\nPrivate Mail Bag<br \/>\nMinistries, Accra<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Labour Commission (NLC) was establish in consonance with the Labour Act 2003, Act 651.
