The Government of Ghana has received funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards the cost of implementing the Root and Tuber Improvement and Marketing Programme (RTIMP). The programme is expected to be implemented across 60 districts commencing in Ghana.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the above stated position in the Root and Tuber Improvement and Marketing Programme of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The Accounts Officer would assist the Programme Financial Controller in the management of the programme finances.<\/p>\n

Job Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nThe Accounts Officer shall assist in the following:<\/p>\n

Preparation of Withdrawal Applications for reimbursement
\nEnsuring that supporting documents of Withdrawal Applications are properly filed and archived
\nMonitoring of Government of Ghana Funds from Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning
\nPreparation and updating of Fixed Assets Register and Contracts Register
\nEnsuring that statutory payments (Social Security and PAYE) are paid accurately and on time
\nMonitoring of disbursements to Zone, District Agricultural Development Units (DADUs), Municipal Agricultural Development Units (MADUs), Regional Agricultural Development Units (RADUs); Research Institutes and Stations, and other implementing partners
\nFollow up with Zones and implementing partners to ensure that expenditure returns are submitted on time and are properly analyzed, posted and archived
\nUpdating contributions due beneficiaries at end of every month
\nAny other tasks that may be assigned by the Financial Controller; and
\nCarry out duties that may be assigned by the National Programme Coordinator
\nRemuneration: Competitive salary
\nJob Location: Programme Coordination Office, Kumasi
\nJob Duration: One (1) year renewable yearly based on performance<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

BSc. (Admin) Accounting Major, BSc. Accounting with computing or B.Com or Level 11 CA (Ghana), Level 11, ACCA or equivalent
\nShould be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
\nMust possess analytical skills
\nMust be proficient in English Language, both written and oral
\nMust have at least four (4) year post-qualification experience
\nExperience in donor-funded project financial procedures will be distinct advantage<\/p>\n
