Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana. Edikan Gold Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chief Environmental Chemist will be responsible for providing accurate and timely physio-chemical and biological analysis of water and tailings samples.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and maintain operating procedures and standards for the environmental laboratory;<\/li>\n<li>Implement a\u00a0fully automated reporting\u00a0system for the environmental laboratory;<\/li>\n<li>Timely analysis of water\u00a0and process samples under\u00a0International QA\/QC\u00a0requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Manage the environmental laboratory and provide accurate results\/returns;<\/li>\n<li>Establish a QA\/QC programme with other laboratories;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Risk Assessment and operate\u00a0the laboratory under\u00a0safe conditions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The position is site based and the Company offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the candidates&#8217; qualifications and experience<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The successful applicant must possess degree or Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Chemistry, or Laboratory Technician with at least 5 years experience in a leadership role in setting and operating an environmental laboratory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested qualified applicants should submit one MSWord document only which includes a cover letter, detailed CV of his\/her qualifications and work history and the names of at least 3 referees.
