Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Chief Risk Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n

BRAC International Holdings B.V. (BIHBV)<\/strong>\u00a0is a socially responsible for-profit organization, engaging people in sustainable economic and income-generating activities. The core focus of BIHBV is to provide microfinance services outside Bangladesh to people who are financially constrained and marginalized, and people who do not have access to the financing facilities offered by commercial banks and other non-bank financial institutions. It does this through its international microfinance activities .BRAC International Microfinance\u2019s mission is to provide a range of financial services responsibly to people at the bottom of the pyramid. BI MF particularly focuses on women living in poverty in rural and hard to reach areas to create self-employment opportunities, build financial resilience, and harness women\u2019s entrepreneurial spirit by empowering them economically.<\/p>\n

BRAC International Microfinance is seeking application from competent, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to fill the following position:<\/p>\n

Chief Risk Officer<\/p>\n

The key responsibilities include but not limited to the following-<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Advise the Board and Management team on controlling and measurements of risks.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Responsible for development and implementation of the institution-wide risk management framework.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop and implement best risk management practices.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Oversee and direct the enterprise-wide management of risk exposures.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Formulate policies and measurement models for the various units involved in carrying out the significant activities that create exposures in the various activity segments in the institution.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Make recommendations to the Boards and Senior Management on the type and level of exposures in each activity segment permitted by policy.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Advise and recommend to the Boards and Management team on all matters relating to risk exposure management.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Regulate, monitor and review control procedures and report on matters relating to exposures<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Manage and report deviations from set limits and exceptions to policy to the Board and Management team for their appropriate actions.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Perform monthly stress-tests on risk portfolios and at least on a quarterly basis, review and approve the appropriateness of the controls applied at the business levels.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 In addition to the monthly stress tests, perform semi-annual reverse stress-testing to examine the impact of selected scenarios from a \u2018bottom- up\u2019 perspective.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Incorporate the results of the stress-tests (which will inform management of the expected risk tendency of the portfolio against the approved risk appetite of the institution) into the risk governance structure of the institution<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Be empowered, where appropriate, to initiate management action to contain the potential risk levels within the approved risk appetite to ensure discipline in the risk management process of the institution<\/p>\n

Safeguarding Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme\u2019s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.<\/p>\n

Educational Requirements:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 A bachelor\u2019s degree with a concentration in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Banking, Business administration, Accounting or Law.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 At least 5 years\u2019 experience in a similar role is required.<\/p>\n
