{"id":6485,"date":"2011-12-28T11:14:20","date_gmt":"2011-12-28T11:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=6485"},"modified":"2013-12-26T16:09:55","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:09:55","slug":"construction-engineer-job-vacancy-plan-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/construction-engineer-job-vacancy-plan-ghana.html","title":{"rendered":"Construction Engineer Job Vacancy: Plan Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><em>Plan Ghana an international child centered community development organization is implementing the Ghana Transition and Persistence (TAP) project funded by USAID, and has a vacancy for the recruitment of dynamic and results oriented persons to fill the positions listed below from January 2012 to August 2013.<\/p>\n<p><\/em><strong>Job Purpose:<br \/>\n<\/strong>To oversee all the construction and equipping of schools and support facilities for 156 Junior High Schools under Component 1 of the Ghana TAP\u00a0project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the design, oversight, and monitoring of school construction activities;<\/li>\n<li>Oversee construction contractors and architectural supervision firms;<\/li>\n<li>Supervises and manages the performance of five Construction Technicians<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support and coordinate capacity building training to School Management Committees (SMCs) on procurement and construction management;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure environmentally sustainable and structurally sound construction materials and techniques;<\/li>\n<li>Manage the selection of building contractors and the procurement of construction materials and equipment;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor construction sites to ensure construction quality and also contractors working on the project;<\/li>\n<li>Provide detailed and accurate written reports to fulfill project technical requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate joint activities with the Chief Of Party and the Eduction\u00a0Specialist;<\/li>\n<li>Lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and oversee compliance with mitigation measures<\/li>\n<li>Prepares Environmental Mitigation Monitoring Plan and checklist in compliance with the requirements<\/li>\n<li>Develops Environmental\u00a0Review Form and screens sub-grant proposals to ensure that funded proposals will have no adverse impact on the environment<\/li>\n<li>Fulfill Plan&#8217;s Child Protection policy at all times to protect children from all forms of abuse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least Masters degree in\u00a0Construction\/Civil Engineering, or related field<\/li>\n<li>Trained in environmental impact assessment<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in all aspects of construction management in Ghana<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills specific to the post:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven solid construction oversight; Good leadership; Analytical; Good communications; Excellent report writing; Strong team-building; Strong negotiating, facilitating and influencing skills.
