The successful candidate will report to the Environmental Manager. She\/he will develop and implement environmental monitoring programs in accordance with internationally accepted protocols.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Prepare External Environmental Reports to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Minerals Commission (MINCOM),\u00a0Newmont Corporate and other agencies as required<\/li>\n
- Manage data collection process and review documents to\u00a0ensure quality and compliance required to satisfy legal\u00a0and regulatory reporting commitments<\/li>\n
- Oversee to the data collection, storage,\u00a0and interpretation of environmental\u00a0monitoring data as required in the Environmental Management Plan including water quality, air quality, noise, meteorological, hydrologic monitoring programs among others<\/li>\n
- Provide support to the relevant departments regarding environmental issues<\/li>\n
- Assist\u00a0and liaise with EPA, MINCOM Office(s) inspectors and\/or other (compliance) agency officials\u00a0for conducting environmental inspections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\n- A first degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Mining or Engineering related field<\/li>\n
- At least 7 years environmental working experience in a mining or related industrial operations and 3 years in a similar position<\/li>\n
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of Ghanaian Environmental Regulations, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and Quality System ISO 17025 as they apply to mining operations<\/li>\n

2.\u00a0Health Safety and Loss Preventions (HSLP) Trainer – Ahafo Mine<\/strong><\/div>\n\n

The successful candidate will report to the HSLP Training Superintendent. She\/he will provide appropriate training skills in safety for the work force.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Assist in the design and teaching of a\u00a0quality Auditing program to meet ISO 14001\/OHSAS 18001 Management Systems<\/li>\n
- Facilitate cultural training to help bridge the differences in expatriates and Ghanaians<\/li>\n
- Investigate,\u00a0research, and design, as directed, revisions to\u00a0currently taught topics\u00a0and\/or design of new topics, relating to mine health and safety training<\/li>\n
- Ensure cost effective competency-based training programs are delivered to participants to develop the required competencies and values<\/li>\n
- Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every employee and training participant\u00a0under or assigned to his\/her supervision<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

3.\u00a0Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator – Akyem Project<\/strong><\/div>\n\n

The successful candidate will support the General Manager, Environmental and Social Responsibility (ESR) to coordinate, monitor and evaluate all activities at the site level.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Support with the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems for the Akyem Project<\/li>\n
- Provide training for the M&E staff and sub-contractors in the application of M&E tools, instruments, processes and methodologies<\/li>\n
- Provide logistical support and planning of meetings and status-checks to analyze progress on activities undertaken within the Social Responsibility team<\/li>\n
- Coordinate information flow and activities about projects to internal and external stakeholders in the form of ad-hoc reports as well as routine monthly\/quarterly\/semi-annual\/annual reports<\/li>\n
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all tasks to be carried out by the M&E Unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

- A minimum of three years’ experience in managing direct reports with significant use of project management tools<\/li>\n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)<\/li>\n
- Effective communication and leadership skills to communicate and coordinate internal program activities<\/li>\n
- Extensive experience in dealing with people in cross-cultural environments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

4.\u00a0Buyer 1 – Akyem Project<\/strong><\/div>\n\n
\n
The successful candidate will be responsible for the acquisition of materials and administration of contracts, primarily for low spend and or low risk.<\/p>\n
Essential Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- Work with local suppliers and Contractors Development Unit with the improvement and execution of Newmont’s purchasing strategies,, policies and guidelines with respect to materials categories and contracts<\/li>\n
- Accountable for value added, cost savings and other performance metrics<\/li>\n
- Acquire cost effective quality materials for operations<\/li>\n
- Process and purchase orders for materials, equipment and services<\/li>\n
- Provide advice to improve transactional practices for activities related to the materials purchasing process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
