The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: Exploration Geologist<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To provide dependable systems of work that reliably delivers the expected ore grade and tonnage from mine to mill.\u00a0 Integrate the technical studies, programs, and analysis of exploration geology with the business objectives and processes of mine planning, mining production, and process plant. The Exploration Geologist is responsible for ensuring that all exploration activities are conducted according to industry best practice. This include but not limited to logging, sampling, mapping, report writing, generation of plans and sections, data collection and management as input to both geological and mineral resource modelling in accordance with standard operating procedures.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish the necessary foundation for the redevelopment of the Obuasi Mine, and being operationally ready<\/li>\n<li>Implement the current Obuasi Mine redevelopment geology plan and improve upon it where possible<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Geology LOM plans and annual budget, rolling annual forecasts consistent with the approved project.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the delivery of the Geology Department budget as minimum requirement through the performance of Chief Geologist Team<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate Safety Leadership and improve the Culture across the Geology Department regarding Safety, Health, and Sustainable Development<\/li>\n<li>Environmental management that is integrated into the Geology Department business plan and for drilling, core yard and laboratory<\/li>\n<li>Resource and develop the people within the Geology Department to capably and consistently deliver the annual budget, LoM plan and strategy according to their role and level of authority<\/li>\n<li>Nurture and Sustain a site culture of Accountability and Continuous Improvement within Geology Department<\/li>\n<li>Support the MD in maintaining constructive relationships with Internal Stakeholders (Exco, Corporate, Group Planning &amp; Technical, CAR, etc.) and external Stakeholders (Contractors, Ghana Chamber of Mines, Mineral Commission, Stool Lands Administrator)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Geosciences\/Geology\/Geological Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 3 years\u2019 underground working experience<\/li>\n<li>In-depth knowledge of logging, mapping and interpretation of data<\/li>\n<li>Basic working knowledge in Datamine and Century Systems software \/ In-depth knowledge in geological mapping, plotting and interpretation of data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Safety Leadership<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Understanding of Safety Leadership is required;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applied Geological Methods<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drilling \/ Sampling \/ Logging \/ Assaying\/ Mapping \/ Database (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Coreyard \/ Equipment (BU)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Geological Theory<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of Geological Theory is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mine Geology Methods<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of Mine Geology Methods is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Exploration Methods<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Understanding of Exploration Methods is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Estimation Methods<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Understanding most items in Estimation Methods is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Operational Management<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of Operational Management is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Business Planning Methods<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of Business Planning is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Operational Excellence<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of Operational Excellence is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Project Management<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of Project Management is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Other Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fostering a team environment \u2013 inspiring and motivating others, promoting collaboration and team work, developing others, communicating prolifically<\/li>\n<li>Managing oneself \u2013 Taking ownership one\u2019s personal development<\/li>\n<li>Building effective working relationships \u2013 ability to build a winsome team with a strong and effective working relationship and maintain effective collateral and cross functional working relationship<\/li>\n<li>Building Trust and Accountability \u2013 displaying high levels of integrity and honesty<\/li>\n<li>Creating Organizational Transformation \u2013 Displaying strategic perspective in adapting plans for achieving organizational objectives<\/li>\n<li>Maximizing Performance Results \u2013 Solving problems and analyzing issues, driving for results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
