The Farm Supervisor is responsible for supervising farm hands; therefore, leadership skills are highly beneficial.<\/p>\n Main Duties and Tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Recruit, train and supervise farm workers \u2013 Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff members. Co-ordinate, assign and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers and direct their activities. \n\u2022 Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
\n\u2022 Develop work schedules and establish procedures \u2013 Monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance and resolving any grievances.
\n\u2022 Analysing existing operations, crops, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
\n\u2022 Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understand expectations.
\n\u2022 Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies \u2013
\nScheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery, inspect farm buildings and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance is carried out and repairs are made when necessary.
\n\u2022 Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed \u2013Ensure and enforce compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards.
\n\u2022 Maintain quality control and production records \u2013 Supervise, monitor, and enforce procedures to maintain crop health and welfare.
\n\u2022 Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops and perform tests on soil and water
\n\u2022 Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
\n\u2022 Supervise and oversee crop- breeding programs
\n\u2022 Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
\n\u2022 Installation, maintenance, and regular monitoring of irrigation system
\n\u2022 Supervise a wide range of farm operations including cultivation, sowing, spraying, and harvesting
\n\u2022 Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
\n\u2022 May perform general farm duties.<\/p>\n
