The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Research Officer- Monitoring and Evaluation to lead the monitoring and evaluation component of the\u00a0Generating Revenues & Opportunities for Women to Improve Nutrition in Ghana\u00a0(GROWING) project, which is a gender-transformative, nutrition-sensitive intervention in six districts of northern Ghana.<\/p>\n
Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: Research Officer, Monitoring And Evaluation<\/strong><\/p>\n The Position:<\/strong>\u00a0This position will be hosted by the International Water Management Institute in Ghana, on behalf of the International Potato Center. The selected candidate will be base in Tamale, Ghana and will report to the Project and Marketing Manager.<\/p>\n Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n Design and implement household surveys at baseline and endline to assess the initial impact of the project.<\/p>\n Design and implement the monitoring system, including digital tools to collect data and connect stakeholders along selected value chains.<\/p>\n Conduct value chain studies.<\/p>\n Analyze quantitative data and write reports.<\/p>\n Conduct gender-sensitive qualitative research, including focus group discussions.<\/p>\n Ensure the organization and documentation of all data files.<\/p>\n Ensure relevant staff are familiar with CIP\u2019s open access and data management policies.<\/p>\n Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Essential<\/strong><\/p>\n Master\u2019s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics or Marketing.<\/p>\n Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.<\/p>\n Proven experience designing household survey and data and cleaning protocols c7aiI80 u0j19<\/p>\n Proficient in EXCEL, ODK software and a statistical package such as STATA.<\/p>\n Knowledge of value chain components and assessment.<\/p>\n Ability to conduct and interpret focus group discussions.<\/p>\n Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment with a collaborative style.<\/p>\n Strong ability to organize and manage data sets.<\/p>\n Excellent communication and writing skills in English.<\/p>\n Desirable<\/strong><\/p>\n Experience in conducting gender-aware studies and gender analysis<\/p>\n Experience working with sweetpotato or other vegetatively propagated crops.<\/p>\n Skills in developing business plans.<\/p>\n Experience designing and implementing digital tools.<\/p>\n Excellent publishing record in relevant fields.<\/p>\n Knowledge of a local language of Northern Ghana<\/p>\n Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n Why should you consider this opportunity?<\/strong><\/p>\n CIP is a global and reputable international organization that has a strong, state-of-the-art R&D background.<\/p>\n CIP is dedicated to achieving food security, improved nutrition and well-being, and gender equality for poor people in root and tuber farming and food systems of the developing world.<\/p>\n CIP is a member of the CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food secure future dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources.<\/p>\n What are we offering?<\/strong><\/p>\n Compensation package commensurate with experience.<\/p>\n This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position limited to Ghana nationals and permanent residents only.
