This is a Graduate level position in the consulting team and is regarded as a professional person in the delivery of geotechnical and tailings services, in line with the Golder suite of engineering.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Civil Engineer Intern<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key duties and responsibilities will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist senior engineers with tailings services and technical advice on moderate complex tailings issues to clients (external &amp; internal) on projects within the mining industry and liaising with Golder\u2019s advanced testing laboratory.<\/li>\n<li>Partake in TSF audits led by senior engineers<\/li>\n<li>Assist senior engineers with providing geotechnical related services to the Mine Waste unit including geotechnical modelling, analyses and design, and geotechnical investigations.<\/li>\n<li>Analyse geotechnical data, perform appropriate calculations and prepare data reports<\/li>\n<li>Support construction quality assurance for the construction of earth structures under the supervision of senior engineers<\/li>\n<li>Assist senior engineers synthesise and analyse data for decision making \/ recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Providing safety assistance in health &amp; safety (HSSE incident reporting).<\/li>\n<li>Assist senior engineers with planning, developing schedules and coordinating important engineering projects to meet completion deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Assist senior engineers with preparing proposals and reports for clients and building business relationships with clients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills, Qualifications, and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Related degree in Engineering in Civil or Geotechnical engineering.<\/li>\n<li>0 \u2013 3 Years\u2019 experience post-graduation.<\/li>\n<li>Engineering design and \/ or geotechnical investigations experience (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Exposure in design, site supervision and disposal of mining and industrial waste (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Slope stability assessment, 3D modelling, producing drawings and sketches on AutoCAD (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>Modelling suite i.e. Civil 3D (preferred).<\/li>\n<li>MS Word, MS Excel &amp; MS PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Your benefits at Golder will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deepen your expertise in a dynamic work environment<\/li>\n<li>Innovative and collaborative multidisciplinary projects<\/li>\n<li>Competitive benefits and remuneration packages<\/li>\n<li>On the job training, mentoring and coaching<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to work closely with our water teams in South Africa, Australia, Europe, US and Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to work closely with our Environment, Waste and Engineering teams<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity to develop your career in the specific area of your interest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Renowned for technical excellence, Golder, a member of WSP, is a leading global specialised engineering and consulting organisation with over 60 years of successful service to its clients.
