{"id":66,"date":"2010-06-09T00:28:16","date_gmt":"2010-06-09T00:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=66"},"modified":"2013-12-26T10:10:46","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T10:10:46","slug":"koforidua-polytechnic-vacancy-for-rector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/koforidua-polytechnic-vacancy-for-rector.html","title":{"rendered":"Koforidua Polytechnic Vacancy for Rector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Governor Council of <strong>Koforidua Polytechnic<\/strong> announces that the post of the <strong>Rector<\/strong> of the Polytechnic will be vacant from 1st July, 2010.\u00a0The Rector is the Academic and Administrative Head and Chief Disciplinary Officer of the Polytechnic.<\/p>\n<p>The Polytechnic Council has approved a Strategic Plan for the Polytechnic in which its vision, mission and objectives are explicity spelt out. The Rector should therefore have the requisite qualifications and experience and a clear understanding of Polytechnic education and its direction and be capable of implementing the institutional Strategic Plan competently<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Position:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Rector is the Executive Head of the Polytechnic and is responsible, under the Governing Council of the Polytechnic, for both the Academic and Administrative functions of the Polytechnic<br \/>\nHe is charged with the promotion of quality higher education and the provision of academic and administrative leadership<br \/>\nHe is also responsible for initiating new directions in the academic development of the Polytechnic and for implementing the Polytechnic&#8217;s Strategic Plan<br \/>\nThe Rector is the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the Polytechnic and exercises general disciplinary functions over both members of staff and students in accordance with the Regulations of the Polytechnic<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terms of Appointment:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Appointment, which is full-time, shall be for FOUR (4) YEARS in the first instance and may be subject to renewal for another two (2) years<br \/>\nThe Salary and Conditions of Service attached to the position are very attractive<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Must be distinquished and internationally acclaimed Scholar<br \/>\nMust have wide experience and knowledge in tertiary education<br \/>\nMust have a proven capacity to motivate, manage and direct staff<br \/>\nMust exhibit a high-sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills<br \/>\nMust be circumspect and above reproach<br \/>\nMust process excellent communication and interpersonal skills and capacity to manage and control crisis situation<br \/>\nMust be visionary, business-oriented and able to establish rapport between Industry and the Polytechnic for a common purpose<br \/>\nMust have the capacity to raise funds and other resources for research and other development activities of the Polytechnic<br \/>\nMust have a minimum qualification of PhD in Engineering, Applied Science or Social Science and must have attained the minimum rank of Senior Lecturer<br \/>\nMust have at least ten (10) years post qualification working experience in a senior management position in a tertiary education or public service<br \/>\nMust be able to serve a full Four-Year Term of Office before attaining the compulsory retiring age of Sixty (60)<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates are requested to submit the following in an Application Letter.<\/p>\n<p>Curriculum Vitae, including Names, telephone numbers, postal and e-mail addresses of three (3) referees;
