Located in a tropical climate, the Damang Gold Mine is a world-class operation,consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL metallurgical plant. The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectency to the year 2019 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Job Vacancy: \u00a0Superintendent &#8211; Shift Supervision (DL)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Job:-<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Mining department of Damang Gold Mine currently seeks to engage the services of a self-motivated individual who will directly be responsible for Shift Supervision. The incumbent will be in charge of the production section.\u00a0Reporting to the Unit-Manager-Production, the successful candidate will use his\/her expertise in Open-pit mining to assist in ensuring that management systems, processes, policies, resources, competencies and skills are in place for assigned subordinates and machinery to work safely to meet planned production targets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key\u00a0Responsibilities:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring that good mining practices are followed to facilitate effective select mining<\/li>\n<li>Initiating cost saving practices and productivity improvement of specially assigned projects<\/li>\n<li>Initiating the consistency of discipline within area of responsibility by ensuring the consistency of sanctions and the handling of grievances<\/li>\n<li>Organising personnel and equipment to safely and effectively achieve planned targets<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that all employees including contractors are in their right PPEs<\/li>\n<li>Visiting all areas of responsibility and ensuring that correct work procedures are followed<\/li>\n<li>Compiling end of shift reports<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring own staff are effectively trained, developed, and supervised<\/li>\n<li>Applying knowledge and experience to solve problems during the shift<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining a safe and environmental friendly working environment<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining a culture of Continuous Improvement in the section<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>An attractive package is available to the right applicant<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 years experience in similar position<\/li>\n<li>Well developed oral and written communication skills in English Language<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness for the position and environment<\/li>\n<li>Valid First Aid certificate<\/li>\n<li>Must possess Blasting, Mine Captain and Shift Boss Certificates<\/li>\n<li>Must be SAP proficient<\/li>\n<li>A valid Ghanaian driver&#8217;s Permit<\/li>\n<li>A hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required results<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It will be advantageous if applicant has:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of BSc.
