Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: Senior Mechanic\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 This position is responsible for diagnostic fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems, carrying out breakdown repairs, and servicing underground heavy mining equipment as guided by the immediate supervisor and\/or trainer.<\/p>\n Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Ensure maintenance and servicing of mobile equipment is carried out efficiently safely and on-site. \n\u2022 Carry out scheduled servicing of mobile equipment in a safe manner and follow company documentation.
\n\u2022 Utilize skill and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery and maximize productivity.
\n\u2022 Ensure accurate recording of maintenance data and specifications is achieved.
\n\u2022 Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals
\n\u2022 Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Supervisor\/Foreman scheduling into the workshop.
\n\u2022 Ensure site and maintenance procedures are maintained.
\n\u2022 Assist with training of new employees to increase skill levels on site
\n\u2022 Work with the workshop personnel to plant work for the oncoming shift<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Strong background working with underground mobile mining equipment, including CAT, Normet, Sandvik, and Volvo
\n\u2022 Minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience on underground machines
\n\u2022 A high degree of skill in troubleshooting and fault finding on mining equipment
\n\u2022 Competent with auto electrics, hydraulic circuits and diesel engine maintenance
\n\u2022 Willingness to learn to improve skills and gain further experience with mobile equipment
\n\u2022 Valid Driving license C\/E
\n\u2022 A basic understanding of mining environment and equipment utilised
\n\u2022 Good supervisory, analytical and organisational skills
\n\u2022 Must be a good and effective communicator
\n\u2022 Ability to follow instructions in accordance with AUMS protocols, standards, and policies to ensure all EHS&T operational and compliance requirements are met<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Your CV must include demographic detail, qualifications, work experience, and a minimum of three referees
