The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Title: SENIOR GEOLOGIST \u2013 EVALUATION<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The purpose of the Senior Geologist \u2013 Evaluation role is to generate reliable Resource models for business planning purposes.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish the necessary Evaluation processes and practices for the redevelopment of the Obuasi Mine, including requirements for Operational Readiness<\/li>\n<li>Provide unequivocal geological evaluation data to enable the quarterly updates of the rolling 18-month plan to be produced on time.<\/li>\n<li>Develop the annual Evaluation cost centre budget to achieve the required targets for achieving annual, medium term and LoM business plans<\/li>\n<li>Deliver the work of the Evaluation function within approved budget targets and specified timeframes, costs and related KPIs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate Safety Leadership and improve the Culture across the Geology department and with own team regarding Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainable Development<\/li>\n<li>Provide the resources and expertise to develop the team to capably and consistently deliver the annual budget, according to their role and level of authority<\/li>\n<li>Rigorously drive implementation of projects and nurture and sustain a culture of Accountability and Continuous Improvement within team<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain constructive relationships with Internal Stakeholders (Corporate, Group Planning &amp; Technical, sister mines, CARO etc.) and external Stakeholders (Regulatory Agencies and Authorities, Minerals Commission) to establish existing and changing societal and regulatory expectations and requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc or an MSc in Geology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 years general geology and Resource estimation experience.<\/li>\n<li>A good knowledge of geostatistics<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to exploration and mine geology<\/li>\n<li>A good working knowledge of Resource estimation software packages<\/li>\n<li>A good working knowledge of databases, laboratories and assay QAQC.<\/li>\n<li>Previous supervisory experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applied Geological Methods\n<ul>\n<li>Drilling (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Sampling (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Logging (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Mapping (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Coreyard (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Assaying (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Database (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Equipment (BA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Basic application of the following Geological Theory is required:Mine Geology Methods\n<ul>\n<li>Plan (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Mining and Plant (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Ore loss and dilution (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Grade Control (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Ore Accounting (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Geotechnical and Geohydrological (BU)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Exploration Methods\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Understanding of the following is required:<\/li>\n<li>Exploration Methods<\/li>\n<li>Estimation Methods<\/li>\n<li>Operational Management<\/li>\n<li>Business Planning<\/li>\n<li>Operational Excellence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Project Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Leadership\u00a0Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fostering a team environment \u2013 inspiring and motivating others, promoting collaboration and team work, developing others, communicating prolifically<\/li>\n<li>Managing oneself \u2013 taking ownership of one\u2019s personal development;<\/li>\n<li>Building effective working relationships \u2013 the ability to build and maintain effective collateral and cross functional working relationship;<\/li>\n<li>Building trust &amp; accountability \u2013 displaying high levels of integrity and honesty;<\/li>\n<li>Creating organizational transformation \u2013 displaying strategic perspectives in adapting plans for achieving organizational objectives;<\/li>\n<li>Maximizing performance results \u2013 solving problems and analyzing issues, driving for results,<\/li>\n<li>Displaying technical and professional expertise, innovating, taking initiative, championing change, establishing stretch goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
