{"id":671,"date":"2010-08-21T01:58:08","date_gmt":"2010-08-21T01:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=671"},"modified":"2010-08-19T12:03:06","modified_gmt":"2010-08-19T12:03:06","slug":"volta-river-authority-director-financial-commercial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/volta-river-authority-director-financial-commercial.html","title":{"rendered":"Volta River Authority: Director &#8211; Financial &#038; Commercial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), a subsidiary of the <strong>Volta River Authority<\/strong>, whose mission is to procure electricity and distribute it efficiently, safely and reliably in the northern sector of Ghana in a commercially viable manner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Function:<\/strong><br \/>\nResponsible for Financial Management, Corporate and Business Planning and the provision of technical advice and policy direction in the commercial operations of NEDCo in line with PURC and EC standards<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Provide general financial and commercial policy guidelines and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations of NEDCo<br \/>\nDetermine the commercial resource requirements required to meet EC and PURC benchmarks<br \/>\nEnsure that the financial transactions are in accordance with the provisions of the instrument of incorporation and any other legislation governing the operations of NEDCo<br \/>\nPreparation of annual, quarterly and other periodic accounts, balance sheets and cash flow statements for audit and inclusion in the various reports and statements produced by NEDCo<br \/>\nPut in place necessary arrangements to ensure the future availability of funds for NEDCo&#8217;s development programme and day-to-day operations<br \/>\nMaintain accurate records of all assets and properties with proper stock control reporting and procedures<br \/>\nControl the administration of long term loans advanced to NEDCo by foreign lending agencies in terms of draw downs and debt servicing<br \/>\nExercise budgetary control, including the preparation of capital budgets, operating income and expenditure budgets, balance sheet budget and comparisons of actual performance against budget<br \/>\nMaintain adequate records of all the financial transactions of NEDCo<br \/>\nLiaise with Internal Auditor to ensure that an effective system of internal control is force<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong> Highly competitive compensation package<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A  university degree in Accounting, Commerce, Marketing or professional qualification in Accounting; PLUS an MBA in Finance or Marketing<br \/>\nThorough knowledge of computer-based accounting system<br \/>\nHigh level of financial analysis and risk management skills, professionalism, honesty and integrity<br \/>\nCommercially astute, resourceful and results-oriented individual ready to lead change and transformation of NEDCo into a profitable making entity<br \/>\nExcellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and negotiation skills<br \/>\nProven skills in strategic planning and execution, and continuously seeking innovative ways of achieving results<br \/>\nAbility to foster good working relationships and networks with social, political, business and donor community leaders for the benefit of NEDCo<br \/>\nExperience in a large commercial entity working at managerial level<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants with the requisite qualifications and experience may apply, giving detailed Curriculum Vitae, copies of their certificates, together with testimonials from two referees, both of whom must be professionally connected with their work, and a contact telephone number to reach:<\/p>\n<p>The Director<br \/>\nHuman Resource<br \/>\nVolta River Authority<br \/>\nP.
