This ensures we have the right people in the right place to make effective and efficient decisions that are consistent with AGA\u2019s vision and purpose.<\/p>\n<p>AngloGold Ashanti Limited (Ghana\/Tanzania Business Unit) is seeking experienced and self-motivated persons to join our Group Legal team as:<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>Job Description<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>Job Title: Compliance Officer: Ghana<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The role holder will be accountable for Compliance within Ghana and will be reporting to the Vice President: Group Compliance.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compliance Training\n<ul>\n<li>Manage online training with IT and HR through Learning Management System (\u201cLMS\u201d) for all Compliance related training, ensure training is allocated to joiners, current employees and relevant contractors as required.<\/li>\n<li>Manage technical queries related to online training with IT.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the assigned training modules\/programmes for the country\/sites are completed within the required time frame. Assist and guide employees where necessary and escalate to Group Compliance as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Report on completion of all courses at site\/country level.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up with learning defaulters through to completion and\/or escalate issues where relevant.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct employee\/contractor induction and other \u201cface to face\u201d training on Compliance and Ethics and other regulatory compliance training as required.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with update and renewal of training material to ensure relevance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Declarations\n<ul>\n<li>Manage site\/country declarations in relation to conflicts of interest, gifts, hospitality and sponsorships.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and assess \u201cintegrity\u201d of management actions when approving or disallowing. Issue reports based on sites and nature and management actions (approval, rejection etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Manage online registers for political activities and communication on them as necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain calendar for local\/national elections.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Communications\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and maintain an effective compliance communication program for the country, including communicating key compliance messaging to the country\/site, including to promoted heightened awareness of the Code of Business Principles and Ethics, policies and procedures, and bribery\/corruption, ethics, conflicts of interest, gifts, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Work with management to ensure that senior managers are also reinforcing these communications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Compile reports internally including local Audit and Risk, AGA Social, Ethics and Sustainability, Serious Concerns committee and<\/p>\n<p>externally (including 20-F, IAR, Sustainability Report etc.) as applicable, in the compilation and aggregation of Compliance Data in relation<\/p>\n<p>to Conflicts of Interest Declarations, Gifts, Responsible Sourcing, legal registers, training, confidential reporting, investigations etc.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Combined Assurance Audits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participate and provide input into Combined Assurance Audits<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Policies and procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assist in the review\/ development and implementation of country\/site policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Group-wide Compliance alignment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Align and implement the necessary systems and processes at country and sites to meet Group-wide compliance, ethics, anti-corruption<\/p>\n<p>and anti-bribery program objectives. Collaborate with other departments, including internal audit, security, procurement, legal, human<\/p>\n<p>resources, etc.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regulatory Compliance\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct certification of country legal registers (including in relation to Tailing Storage Facilities) to ensure that AGA complies with applicable laws.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with ensuring in-country compliance to the broad spectrum of regulatory and legislative requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Agents and Intermediaries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maintain registry of Agents and intermediaries in line with Procedure on Engagements of Agents and Government Intermediaries and<\/p>\n<p>ensure compliance with the requirements of the procedure.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Third Party due diligence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Co-ordinate, manage and monitor third party due diligence, including (i) suppliers\/vendors (ii) agents\/ intermediaries, and (iii) potential<\/p>\n<p>Directors; (iv) JV partners (v) project partners (vi) CSI projects (vii) other ad hoc requests.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible Sourcing\n<ul>\n<li>Assess Supplier Assessment Questionnaires and perform compliance-related due diligence on vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Understand and classify vendors according to their risk profile, manage and mitigate the risk posed by the vendor by implementing sufficient controls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Books and Records: Government Officials\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all payments to government officials are completely and accurately reported in AGA books and records.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in compiling, auditing, and reviewing the relevant registers and documentation supporting these payments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Reporting and Investigation of compliance incidents or violations\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and report compliance violations (and potential violations, including potential violations of the Code of Business Principles and Ethics).<\/li>\n<li>Conduct and assist with Compliance related investigations where required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Advice on Compliance and Ethics matters<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Provide guidance and advice to staff on all compliance and ethics related matters.<\/p>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Diploma \/ Degree in relevant field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 years\u2019 relevant experience, with at least 1 year in a listed global, matrix organization<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication (written and spoken), presentation, organisation and administration skills.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office packages \u2013 Word, Excel and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Initiative.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Deadline driven.<\/li>\n<li>Detail Conscious.<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Team Player<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) has implemented a new operating model to drive strategic alignment across the business with a common organizational design for the company to deliver its purpose.
