{"id":67165,"date":"2022-05-10T05:08:51","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T05:08:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=67165"},"modified":"2022-05-10T05:09:25","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T05:09:25","slug":"golder-jobs-2022-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/golder-jobs-2022-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Golder Jobs 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>WSP Golder is not just a place to work, it is a promise of a living, dynamic environment where people collaborate, innovate, build enduring relationships, excel, and grow professionally in a strong culture of ownership.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Tailings\/Geotechnical Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Golder has an exciting new opportunity for a\u00a0<b>Tailings\/Geotechnical Engineer<\/b>\u00a0to join our Mine Waste team on a\u00a0<b>full-time<\/b>\u00a0basis in\u00a0<b>Accra Ghana<\/b>. \u00a0\u00a0This is an Intermediate level position in the consulting team and is regarded as a professional person in the delivery of geotechnical and tailings services, in line with the Golder suite of engineering products.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key duties and responsibilities will include:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Providing tailings services and technical advice on moderate complex tailings issues to clients (external &amp; internal) on projects within the mining industry;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Providing geotechnical related services to the Mine Waste unit including geotechnical modelling, analyses and design, geotechnical investigations and liaising with external commercial laboratories.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Using advanced techniques, modifications and extension of theories, practices to synthesise and analyse data for decision making \/ recommendations;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Managing, analysing tailings and geotechnical reporting for projects which may include the design and inspection of mine waste storage facilities, the construction of tailings deposits, the operation and management of deposits, properties and behaviour of tailings, closure and deposits stability and seeping analysis and water storage dams and earthworks;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Providing safety leadership in health &amp; safety (HSSE incident reporting);<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Participating in training activities, mentoring and transferring knowledge to junior geotechnical \/ tailings engineers;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Planning, developing schedules, coordinating and overseeing manpower on important engineering projects to meet completion deadlines;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Supervising, coordinating and reviewing \/ evaluating activities carried out by junior engineers; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">P<\/span><span lang=\"EN-AU\">reparing proposals and reports for clients, and building business relationships with clients<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills, Qualifications, and Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Relevant degree in the Civil Engineering with minimum of 6 years experience post graduation with developed specialist skills in the area of tailings and geotechnical engineering;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Honors degree (BEng or BSc) in the Geotechnical field preferred;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Professional registration preferred;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Legislation related to engineering design supporting water use and waste management license applications;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Financial knowledge (Understanding of Work in Progress, Accounts Receivables and DSOs);<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Proven skills\/ experience to lead integrated project mine waste projects coupled with sound project management skills;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook , MS Projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Bullets\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\">Proficient in Slope stability, seepage analysis and FEM software, such as Geostudio, Slide and Plaxis.
