{"id":6743,"date":"2012-01-19T11:08:21","date_gmt":"2012-01-19T11:08:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=6743"},"modified":"2013-12-26T16:09:47","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:09:47","slug":"field-officer-jobs-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/field-officer-jobs-in-ghana.html","title":{"rendered":"Field Officer Jobs in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Global Responses Initiative (GLORI) is a Registered Non-Governmental Non-profit making organization dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of individuals, organizations and communities to improve on their health and social circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>The International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour-Cocoa Community Project (IPEC\/CCP) is an International Labour Organization\u00a0 Programme being implemented by four Implementing agencies in 4 district of which Global Responses Initiative is the implementing agency for the Wassa Amenfi West District of Ghana..<\/p>\n<p>The Programme applies an integrated-area-based approach, involving strategic service delivery on a participatory scale to support its advocacy work with the aim of eliminating child labour in its operational area \u2013 4 Cocoa growing districts in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The Programme works in the areas of Education, Children\u2019s rights monitoring and protection, sanitation, Community-based Networks, Child protection, Youth Empowerment and Employment, with the overarching focus of civil society strengthening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the IPEC\/CCP and Empowerment for Life programme, it is the objective of the Local Organisation to Mobilise Sub-component to strengthen civil society&#8217;s demand for improved services within a framework of functional governance structures and also work towards child responsible Labour Standards through the Elimination of Child Labour\u00a0 in the district. The two field officers will support in the implementation of the project activities:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key roles and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobilize and sensitize communities, CBOs, Traditional Authorities (TAs), NGOs and other partners in the target area on issues related to child labour<\/li>\n<li>Work towards enhanced collaboration and co-ordination of activities and programmes with the DAs, decentralized Departments and other development partners operating in the programme area<\/li>\n<li>Carry out capacity building training in Child labour issues for communities and CBOs and the CBO Networks<\/li>\n<li>Support CBOs and CBO Networks to identify and engage in relevant advocacy and lobbying activities with Service Providers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First degree in Social Sciences or any relevant field with a minimum of two years work experience in participatory development and rural field work<\/li>\n<li>Conversant with innovative facilitation methods\/skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in mainstreaming and analyzing child labour issues<\/li>\n<li>Ability to co-ordinate different groups and networks of the Programme<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of basic development issues especially in advocacy and rights based approaches<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in child protection, conflict prevention and resolution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All applicants are required to meet the following general requirements<\/li>\n<li>Team player and ability to work to meet deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Ability to speak a local language of the programme area will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All suitably qualified and interested candidates should submit applications including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Letter or motivation statement detailing clearly why they are interested in and qualified for the position<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae<\/li>\n<li>Photocopies of certificates<\/li>\n<li>Names, addresses and contact telephone numbers of three (3) referees (including applicant&#8217;s last employer) and<\/li>\n<li>Applicant&#8217;s contact telephone number<\/li>\n<li>Applications should be sent in sealed envelopes and marked with the relevant interest area or position and submitted to:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All documents should be submitted as attachments, and the file names should include the name of the applicant.
