The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through other managers and their teams, over a period of 3 months to 1 year<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Head of Retail Business\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accountable for the overall delivery of the Retail Distribution Channel<\/li>\n<li>Develops and takes accountability for a Retail Mass Business\/Target Operating Model which is aligned to the OMG strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that implementations of the Retail Mass are managed effectively against agreed key performance indicators, according to agreed project management principles, and in line with OM strategy and governance.<\/li>\n<li>Aligning the respective value propositions to maximise market share.<\/li>\n<li>Provide ongoing support and updates to established Retail Mass operations across OMG, as required.<\/li>\n<li>Develops overall distribution growth strategy and sets aggressive performance targets for the different channels that result in increased sales and reduced operating losses.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that a clear operational plan exists for aggressively driving the sales delivery of OMG Retail.<\/li>\n<li>Creates a sustainable channel economic model that incorporates the regulatory framework and is based on delivering products that are relevant to customer needs and competitive in the market place.<\/li>\n<li>Manages the pipeline of talent across Retail channels so as to maximise the people capability and transform the business.<\/li>\n<li>To operate as an effective member of the Executive Management Team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sales Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Manages sales support processes to ensure branch profitability &amp; to meet business targets over periods of 3 months to a year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Budget Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Manages area budget.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sales\/ Productivity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Manages sales processes to ensure branch profitability &amp; to meet business targets.<\/p>\n<p>Identifies potential new markets &amp; opens up the markets with assistance of Sales Manager.<\/p>\n<p>Develops local market &amp; resource plan for area.<\/p>\n<p>Monitors area results.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stakeholder Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Responsible for external relationship management with key stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Effectiveness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individually accountable for staff time, tasks and output quality, over periods of 3 months to a year.<\/p>\n<p>Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others.<\/p>\n<p>Plans &amp; assigns work over periods of 3 months to a year.<\/p>\n<p>Guides and directs staff to achieve operational excellence standards.<\/p>\n<p>Creates a climate for optimal performance.<\/p>\n<p>Manages performance.<\/p>\n<p>Selects potential staff to sustain customer\/client service delivery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Educational Qualifications &amp; Relevant Work Experience<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant Degree in related field, Master\u2019s degree preferred<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years relevant industry experience<\/li>\n<li>Managerial experience<\/li>\n<li>Have demonstrable experience in developing sound processes to support sales<\/li>\n<li>Chartered Insurer designation is a Mandatory requirement for this role<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you for your interest in working with Old Mutual.
