We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Senior GL Accountant<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Come join our 34,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children\u2019s life stories!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employee Contract Type<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Local \u2013 Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cash management.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage petty cash for NO-ROs and make the respective reports for reimbursements.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the cash flow and availability of funds in bank accounts for NOs and RO on a weekly basis.<\/li>\n<li>Calculate monthly funding request and quarterly forecast of cash for NOs and RO keeping the days of cash target under partnership guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Receive cash and coordinate bank deposits for NOs and RO.<\/li>\n<li>Record and control direct funds sent by SOs to NOs\/RO.<\/li>\n<li>Perform surprise petty cash counts.<\/li>\n<li>Pay and record local payroll to NOs whom SSC offers this service.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and control corporate credit card portfolio for LACRO, ASSC and CRIO including bank relationship.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and pay employee income tax to government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Budget and planning<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Update Pbas records as needed by NOs\/RO.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile My Pbas for NOs and RO.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring in Pbas budget changes for NOs\/ RO projects.<\/li>\n<li>Review and record into Sun6 the budget changes for NOs\/ROs projects.<\/li>\n<li>Support GL lead in the annual budget for RO and uploaded into Sun6.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Month\/ Year end close<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform Cal \u2013 cost allocation process for NO.<\/li>\n<li>Review and record international payroll.<\/li>\n<li>Review, record and control RO severance pay and repatriation assistance liability.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile local income and direct funding.<\/li>\n<li>Perform monthly rate calculation (as need it) and revaluation process.<\/li>\n<li>Upload Assets monthly report.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and post the NO-RO financial reports in the FFR database.<\/li>\n<li>Perform and upload year end process, reports.<\/li>\n<li>Posting journal entries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reporting and analysis<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support in the quarterly RObudget forecast.<\/li>\n<li>Support financial analysis to Regional Senior Leadership.<\/li>\n<li>Support NOs with financial analysis as need it.<\/li>\n<li>Support in the annual cashflow preparation for RO.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze and Update NOs chart of accounts according with Field Financial Manual.<\/li>\n<li>Perform validation codes for NO-RO core budget and projects.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare the annual ICSAT for RO.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare RO and ASSC tax form and declaration to government as required by local regulation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Customer service.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Support GL lead to provide training to new RO employees about GEO, policies, procedures and financial services<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u00b4s degree with a major in finance, business or accounting.<\/li>\n<li>+4 or more years of experience in working in a General Ledger department.<\/li>\n<li>1 year of audit experience<\/li>\n<li>Functional knowledge of accounting processes<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of internal control elements and best financial practices<\/li>\n<li>Experience in interfacing with the business from a Shared Service Centre desirable<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in using Finance ERP solutions<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), NIIFs .and NIAs and Internal Control Principles.<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility and ability to work on different aspects of the general ledger<\/li>\n<li>Broad based experience in accounting and financial systems<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in using Finance ERP solutions<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated strong work ethic and flexible hours as needed; ability to drive results and meet strict deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with multidimensional reporting concepts and structures<\/li>\n<li>Good written and oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of technology; including data structure, analysis codes and business rules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With over 70 years of experience, our focus is on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life.
