The Bluestar Business Development Officer (BBDO) for Social Franchise is responsible for ensuring the operational delivery of the organisational Social Franchise strategy. The role is aimed at delivering excellence within the four pillars of success for the channel and achieving increasing levels of commercial viability, impact and sustainability of the facilities.<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the strategy in the field and to maintain professional relations with each Franchised Outlet for both internal and external audiences. The position holder is part of the Regional Operations Directorate and is expected to contribute to the organisation\u2019s strategy and model key leadership behaviours to demonstrate the organisation\u2019s values.<\/p>\n

The BBDO will report to the Regional Manager in the region with a dotted reporting line to the Channel Lead, Social Franchise.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title: Bluestar Business Development Officer\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. ENSURING QUALITY COMPLIANCE<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Improve the quality of social franchise facilities through an objective assessment and<\/p>\n

support<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Assess clinical supplies used by each social franchise facility and implement improvement<\/p>\n

processes to ensure availability and supply.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Support social franchise facilities in preparation for quality assurance implementation,<\/p>\n

quality audits and\/or other quality accreditation requirements.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Manage the clinical incident reporting chain by liaising between the clinical assessor and<\/p>\n

social franchise facilities.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Coordinate and organise clinical training for social franchise facilities.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Support competency assessment of facilities by ensuring client flow into facilities.<\/p>\n

2. MARKETING AND DEMAND GENERATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Identify and scout for prospective facilities to join the Bluestar model.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Conduct alternative market assessment for social franchise facilities and review local<\/p>\n

market dynamics to support facilities\u2019 operations<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop individual facility action plans detailing initiatives and commitments to be<\/p>\n

undertaken during a quarter.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Through marketing needs assessment, ensure social franchise facilities are supported with<\/p>\n

all facility branding collaterals<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop demand generation strategies and activities to increase clients reached for each<\/p>\n

social franchise facility monthly.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Identify opportunities for partners and stakeholder engagements to conduct community<\/p>\n

engagements.<\/p>\n

3. REGULATORY SUPPORT FOR FRANCHISE OUTLETS<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Support social franchise facilities through the regulators\u2019 licensing requirements and<\/p>\n

processes.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop a system to keep track of the expiration of all regulators\u2019 documentation<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Guide social franchise facilities through documentation and facilitate submission of<\/p>\n

documents to regulators.<\/p>\n

4. BUSINESS SUPPORT<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Provide leadership and guidance to franchised outlets on accurate data capture and timely<\/p>\n

reporting<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop a system of feedback to social franchise facilities on their income and expenditure<\/p>\n

lines each month.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Coordinate business management and customer service training for social franchise<\/p>\n

facilities.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Identify the social franchise facility\u2019s commodity needs, and increase the sale of<\/p>\n

commodities, equipment and consumables to increase income.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop additional systems and opportunities for income generation and subscription<\/p>\n

collection for social franchise facilities.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Develop and provide specific recommendations to each franchised facility that improve<\/p>\n

financial sustainability<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Identify opportunities to engage advisors and partners as part of business financing and<\/p>\n

supply chain management.<\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Marketing, business administration, public health or social<\/p>\n

sciences\/development studies<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Other professional qualifications, ideally in marketing\/business development<\/p>\n

Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 At least 5 years of relevant post-graduation work experience and at least 3 years of<\/p>\n

experience in marketing\/relationship management<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Demonstrated strong business management skills for a portfolio of a similar size, and scale<\/p>\n

and experience in managing multiple relationships simultaneously<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Demonstrated experience in successfully launching new projects, activities, and working<\/p>\n

through others to fully realise implementation plans<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Demonstrated experience in successfully working across teams<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Experience in working with young people (e.g. behaviour change communication activities,<\/p>\n

marketing activities, peer educator programmes, etc)<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Articulate and analytical with attention to detail and should be results-oriented<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Ability to spot bottlenecks, resolve issues, and troubleshoot<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Experience in delivering training and strong partnership support<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Experience in working for and with NGOs (or multilateral or bilateral agencies such as the<\/p>\n

UN) and specific experience working with international NGOs<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Experience in working with both public and private health facilities<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Experience in working in sexual and reproductive health<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Able to work on own initiative and must be very innovative.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Pro-family planning and pro-choice.<\/p>\n
